Serve up this No Bake! Deliciously Easy Lemony Bird’s Nest Dessert.
Between church and dinner and the egg hunt, there’s so much to prepare for on Easter Day. Make it easy on yourself and fun this year with this yummy Easter treat topped off with everybody’s favorite… Peeps! Plus, everything can be gathered and prepared in advance for easy serving.
I can guarantee that your guests will LOVE this light springtime dessert.
But the best part is that it makes life EASY for you on a super busy day.
It’s a double win!!
Every big day has a plan… here’s what you’ll need to make your guests’ mouths water…
No Bake! Easy Lemony Bird’s Nest Dessert.
INGREDIENTS:
- Pre-Baked Lemon Meringue Pie (I used Mrs. Callender’s pie from the freezer section.)
- Easter Bird Peeps Yellow Peeps are my favorite, but use whatever you wish.
- Sweetened Coconut Flakes
- Food Coloring (I used green.)
- Zipper Sandwich Bag
BIRD’S NEST ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS:
Place a cup of Sweetened Coconut Flakes in a zippered sandwich bag.
Add a few drops of food coloring, zip the baggie shut, and start mixing the coconut flakes with the food coloring until the color is evenly distributed through the coconut.
If you like, you can make multiple bags and colors or a larger bag. Start with a few drops of food coloring. If you want a deeper color, add more. Just know that you can’t take the color away, but you can always add color. That’s all there is to it.
Keep the baggie zipped shut until serving time.
SERVING IDEAS:
There are two ways that you can serve up your easy lemony bird’s nest dessert.
One way is to cut your pie into slices and serve it on dessert plates, make a bird’s nest on top of the with green coconut flakes and then top with an Easter Peep.
Another fun way to serve this dessert is to spoon the pie into vintage-style sundae dishes, create bird’s nest on top, and nestle an Easter Peep into the coconut bird’s nest.
My Easy Lemony Bird’s Nest Dessert is such a hit that I make sure to purchase Peeps which are only available at Eastertime, so I can serve a fun springy dessert after Easter, too.
Do you have a fun and easy Easter dessert that your family raves about? I’m always looking for new recipes to try and share here.
