Can you believe that it is already my….

Two Year Blogiversary - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

I can hardly believe it!  These have been the fastest two years in history!

Who knew when I first pressed “Publish” on April 29th, 2012 that we would be where we are today?

Many of my hopes and dreams have been realized.  But, if you know me….I press ahead to make the blog and this space on the web even more meaningful and fruitful.  And truly I am amazed that even in this “in between” we are growing together in so many ways.

Thank you for being here, for taking time to comment and share bits of your life here, too.

Your encouragement this past year has meant more than you will ever know.

It would be so fun to get to meet you in person and sit down and enjoy a cup of cocoa and some sweet homemade biscuits smothered with fresh sliced strawberries and just whipped sweet cream.  That may seem like a strange combination….but those are my two most favorite foods.  I’d like to learn what your favorites are, too.

Sometimes this seems like a very one-sided deal.  I talk…you listen.  You know all about me.  And I’d like to know so much more about you.  I love to read your comments.  Really they make my day and help me see YOU, a real person with a beautiful face, when I write.

Every time I hit “Publish” I worry that my post will be worthy of your time.  I want to make the time you spend here a bright spot in your day.  I want you to leave feeling encouraged, empowered, and inspired.  That’s a pretty lofty goal.  I’ll keep doing my best.  So as we travel the highs and lows of life, I hope you’ll choose to be with me through it all. 🙂

To celebrate this milestone and our community, I thought we should have a little GIVEAWAY.

This giveaway is meaningful to me in several ways.  Let me tell you how it all began.

I had it on my mind that I should have a giveaway to celebrate this milestone.  But, I really didn’t want to contact anyone and make an ask.  It was just a little more than I had in me.  So, one day, I asked God to show me what to do.  He is really something.  I love the way he orchestrates things.

Daily Grace table and kitchenware from DaySpring - giveaway at AnExtraordinaryDay.net

A few weeks ago, one of my favorite blogs, The Inspired Room had a giveaway.  It was for pieces of the new Daily Grace Collection at DaySpring.  Since I don’t need anything, I usually don’t enter giveaways.  But, Melissa’s table…set with lovely dinner and salad plates and accessories from the collection…was so sweet….I couldn’t resist.  And you know I love seeing and creating pretty table settings, so I entered.

A short while later an email came to my inbox telling me I had won.  How fun!!  Immediately it came to mind that I could share my winnings with you.  I mentioned it to Melissa and she encouraged me to ask the gentleman from DaySpring.  And so I asked if I could choose some items for myself and have you choose some items as well and could they ship your choices to you?  He said YES!

And the next best part!! This collection is all about gratefulness.  It is a perfect giveaway for a blog that hosts a weekly get-together called Joy Day! where we each share seven things from our week that made our hearts grateful.

Yup!  I love how God works these things out!

  3. Gail says

I love Day Spring products, especially their cards of encouragement. However, God has blessed me with more than enough material goods, so I do not need to add another thing into my home, so I won’t be entering the contest.
Thank you for your generous offer of a givewaway.
Mostly, congrats on 2 years of blogging. I looked forward to opening my email and seeing a ost from you.

  4. Tim Miller says

I read somewhere recently that it takes 16.6 million light years to travel from one end of the blogiverse to the other. (Or something like that; maybe it was the Universe.) And yet with just a few keystrokes I can find my way to An Extraordinary Day. Isn’t life wonderful?

  5. Happy Blogaversary, Diane! Your ‘Joy Day’ posts on Sunday are one of the highlights of my week!

I would have a hard time deciding … everything there looks so great! But, we are less supplied with serving pieces than place settings, so I’d probably go with the serving bowl, if that were an option. Sharing on Pinterest, FB and Twitter.

  6. Bee says

Happy Anniversary. I just joined you a few months ago and have enjoyed your gratitude series and it has made a big difference to me. You are very generous with the give-away: I would really love the open your heart placecards and would love to use in the guest room: ‘Sweet dreams’ ‘Blessings’ ‘Sunshine’ , etc. for a blessing to our guests. Thx for your sunshine in my life daily.

  7. Auntiepatch says

I would choose the Daily Grace – Grace for Today – Serving Bowl. It’s a nice reminder of what’s important.

  8. Glenda Kremer says

    glenda Kremer

  9. Happy, happy blogiversary Diane!!!!!!! What a wonderful way to celebrate! I love these new pieces from Dayspring, I’ve never seen them before and am completely smitten!! I especially love the place settings and all the bowls. Who among us doesn’t need a DAILY reminder to live with gratitude? I’ll be sharing on my social media!! ~Hugs, Jennifer

  10. Olivia Bartley says

Love, love, love Daily Grace – Grateful Heart – Memo Chalkboard! It is perfect! I’ve been looking for a way to write down my step-son’s chores for the day, and this is wonderful. I didn’t like the idea of a white board, or paper on the fridge. I didn’t think about a chalkboard! I love this!

  11. Renea says

I really like the cake pedestal or the Open Your Heart bowl. Such pretty dishes. Thanks for sharing your giveaway.

  12. I LOVE the Memo Board! I would use it to list all of the blessings every day for a reminder of all that God is doing in my life! Happy Anniversary!

  13. Congratulations on your two year blogiversary and may you have many more! You must be filled with a great sense of achievement.

Being new to blogging, two years seems such a long time. One thing I am learning from established bloggers like yourself, is that they all have suffered and still suffer from nerves when hitting the publish button. That makes me feel good, as I thought it was just me doubting myself. I suppose in this case nerves are good as it means we care what we are publishing!

  14. Joanne Viola says

Congratulations on your blog anniversary! These are each such precious pieces. I would select the small vase but not for me. I would give it to my son & daughter-in-law for their upcoming 1 year anniversary! My DIL loves cut flowers & this would be such a sweet reminder to be grateful of all God has done & will continue to do in their lives. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  15. I love the “Celebrate” cake topper banner!

  16. Kim says

Diane, congrats, congrats, congrats! Two years is a long time in the world of blogging and you put so much into each and every post. I enjoy reading them all! You know I love your FB Goodnights, too! I wish you the best in the coming year and can’t wait to see what you have in store for us! If I had to chose, I would pick the cup and saucer. I think that it shares a lovely message and I would use it everyday and be reminded!
    🙂 Happy, happy!

  17. Mel says

What a selfless thing. And how wonderful to find them willing and open to your humble request. Amazing how that happens, time and time again, huh.
The wee creamer, “blessed and grateful” kinda grabbed my heart. My sister claims that and I get ‘right sized, every time. If she can live her life in humble service and gratitude after the horrific surgeries and treatments for oral cancer–I’m just a whiner, yaknow? She can’t eat, given the nature of the surgery, but the cute creamer with a packet of seeds would be a smile maker.
And you, dearheart, have grown leaps and bounds in those two years. HERE has grown leaps and bounds. And as neurotic as folks all seem to get over hitting that publish button, it’s part of what endears you and HERE to my heart. It’s that genuineness, that ‘fallible’, ‘imperfect’, ‘still growing’ bit that let’s me settle in with total absence of fear. Cuz with it comes a ‘knowing’ that you will protect and honour the community you’ve established here.
    That’s a pretty special thing.
But you’re a pretty special gal.
Happy second anniversary. Oh, and I would LOVE the hot cocoa and a warm biscuit.
Or…a cuppa coffee and a bagel with cream cheese would work, too! 😉

  18. Debbi Saunders says

    Hi Diane,
Happy Second Anniversary! You have brought joy to my life with your blog posts of hope and encouragement as well as home decorating ideas and recipes!!!
    You have become a Friend!
    Thank You!
I love this line of dishes; I especially like the little sugar/creamer.
they are little reminders to be so very grateful everyday! And will always remind me of you and how your blog and friendship have enriched my Life, during a very challenging time, when I was lonely and the situation seemed impossibly insurmountable!
I pray that God will continue to Bless and grow your blog.
    Debbi

    • Diane says

Debbi…we have become friends! Thank you for that. I appreciate your willingness to reach out and to share your heart and extend your love. It has really meant so much to me. 🙂
I agree….the sugar and creamer are so sweet! And they can be used for so much more than what they are named.
Thank you for your blessing! I receive it in Jesus’ Name!
      [hugs]

  19. Kathryn says

Everything on the site is wonderful! I think I would choose the separated dish and pass it along to my secret sister.

  20. Jennifer Finn says

I love the bird cage notes holder.
This would really help me stay organized
    Thanks

  21. Taryn T. says

These are simply beautiful. My middle name is Grace, and I was named after my grandmother. At first, I thought my name was old fashioned, but I have grown to love it, and my daughter has the name Grace as well. I tend to collect things with the name Grace- for example, I have a set of “Grace” dishes that my grandmother saved and collected for me. So, I would LOVE the Daily Grace – A Grateful Life Is Blessed – Cake Pedestal. It would be meaningful to me, and I would think of my grandmother each time I served a cake or pie!

  22. I love their products too, I would love the “blessed with grace” wall sign. Happy two years Diane.

  23. Karrie Millheim says
