Recently I went for an early morning walk up the hill to the nearby school. There, I have a lovely view of the town and countryside. It’s really quite beautiful. This particular day there was an ethereal cloud hanging low in the valley. The sun was shining high on the hillside as I stumbled upon these lovely daisies glistening with the morning dew.
In the sweetness of friendship
let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning
and is refreshed.
Khalil Gibran
Though I am not a fan of Gibran’s theology…these words speak truth. We all know how refreshed we are when a dear friend calls us on those days. Are our hearts not refreshed? Isn’t it interesting that it’s not the grand things that bring our hearts refreshment…but it’s taking a quiet walk in the company of a friend, getting an encouraging text or message, or sitting around the table after a meal and exchanging stories from our day.
May your heart be refreshed today by the sweetness of friendship’s dew.

It was another Extraordinary Week on the blog!
Saturday’s weekly wrap up was fun with a new twist on pizza and salad. My mouth waters just thinking of the combo. Sunday began with Joy! A post that my husband thought was my best Joy Day! post to date. It’s pretty amazing when you can touch your husband’s heart. I’m a wee bit sad to see my guest host run on Monday Funday Link Party come to an end. But, it was a grand hurrah as I got to share a little bit about myself and then choose the features from the nearly 600 link-ups of the week. That’s a task. Though a good one. I took a breather for a few days and then, upon popular request, created a tutorial for making those cute pleated collars for our Mason jars. I joined in the fun of One Room Three Ways…creating a fresh summer feeling for my sunroom. And that post gave me an unexpected surprise. When I got up this morning, I noticed my traffic numbers were the highest ever. All because of that post and linking it to the party finale. What a blessing.
Humbled and blessed.
I can’t tell you how it warms my heart to discover that someone has chosen to include one of my posts in their blog’s features. I am so grateful for the recognition at these wonderful places this past week:
French Country Cottage ~ Bernideen’s Tea Time ~ Thrifty Groove
Becoming Martha ~ Sew-licious ~ Shabby Art Boutique
Please take a minute to stop by these extraordinary blogs for even more inspiration.
On a personal note. This week has been good. Our hearts were heavy on Monday, but we kept trusting and praying and Tim sent his resume out again. As the week went on we began to sense God lifting us up. He truly IS our provider and blessed us financially. On Thursday one of the resumes yielded a lengthy questionnaire which is a good beginning to a new possibility. Thank you ‘prayers’ for standing in the gap for us. You have no idea how special you are to us.
Can you believe that we are already heading into Fourth of July? Wow! This summer is moving way too fast for me. More fun is afoot here with red, white, and blue posts coming up up for you. Have you made plans for the long weekend? I thought maybe one of my friends was going to be coming down for the holiday…but her plans changed. I’d love to hear what you have in the works.
Truly…I feel so blessed by each one of you Extraordinary friends. A special thanks to those of you who stop by and leave your thoughtful words. Your comments make my day!!
Wishing you an Extraordinary weekend!
Diane

Praying the Lord provides your husband with the job that best suits his God-given gifts, education and experience.
You have no idea how much that means to me Susan.
Thank you sooo much!!
[hugs]
Still praying!! Oh, I’m hopeful that you’re both feeling lifted up. Sometimes I sense G-d at work way before it’s visible. I’ll keep praying for you and yours!
And what a GORGEOUS photo. That’s not just SOME dew–that’s a deluge..and it’s gorgeous!
We always have big plans on the 4th–it’s the traditional place to come and park it for a lot of folks. We’re on the parade route and we have a corner lot. LOL Not to mention we’ve made it ‘open house’ time for anyone and everyone–so we’re in the gathering/picking up stuff stage. And there’s a pile of STUFF in the kitchen already for the doings. We’ll probably have a good 30-40 folks who dine and dash off to the other festivities. It’s just what we do cuz it’s FUN to have all the kiddos and adults checking in year after year.
It’ll be interesting on crutches! LOL But no sense in trying to cancel, I said–folks just anticipate it’ll be the open door and so it will be! There’ll be more than enough hands to help.
Here’s hoping it’s not a soggy one! 😉
And we are feeling those prayers. God is at work. 🙂 I’m anxious to see how He moves. 😉
I was so excited to see that lovely dewy daisy…it made me smile too!! It’s like God’s goodness…not just a little…a lot!
Oh Mel…your plans for the 4th are wonderful. In my perfect world that would be something that I, too, would love to do. What a blessing you are to so many. It speaks volumes of your heart. How fun!! Oh I do hope the weather is wonderful for you. [hugs]
What a sweet post…have a great week!
