Welcome to the final day of our fabulous celebration!
All week we’ve been talking about friendship in some form or another.
We even broke bread together the other day.
And everyone wanted the recipe, so I provided the Best Banana Bread Recipe, ever.
To wrap up our Five Days of Giveaways I wanted to give you something, too.
Something I created special for you…and I’m giving away something from my Longaberger collection.
I hope you like both.
Free Friendship Printable
Recently I was creating a book page runner…which you might see in upcoming posts. As I was removing pages from the book I discovered this quote. It seems that it was meant to be and fits in perfectly for our week-long blogiversary celebration.
Friendship is precious, not only in the shade,
but in the sunshine of life.
And thanks to a benevolent arrangement of things,
the greater part of life is sunshine.
~ Thomas Jefferson

Today’s Extraordinary Giveaway!
It seems that food and friendship go hand-in-hand. We love to chat over dinner, a cup of coffee, or even a slice of the Best Banana Bread. Exchanging recipes is something we do out of friendship. So, when I debated about what would be the perfect giveway for my first blog anniversary, I chose a Longaberger Small Recipe Basket with Lid and Protector and Liner. And because red is always the perfect color to give life to a room…and a favorite of mine…I thought this basket would be perfect. Who’s excited?
For those of you who don’t know, Longaberger has been a part of my life for a long time. After moving for the umpteenth time a little more than a year ago, I chose not to restart my business locally. However, I do have an online Longaberger business. I am careful to not talk about it here on the blog a lot, but because I love both the baskets and the pottery, well, you often see it in my photos. It’s woven into my life.
From time-to-time I will do a Longaberger post, but if you are interested in knowing more about this fabulous line of products you can click here, or email me. Since my husband is out of work I would be thrilled if a few of you might consider hosting an online party…it’s super simple and a win-win for both of us. Just shoot me an email and we’ll make it happen.
This gorgeous basket is handwoven in Dresden, Ohio and signed and dated by its weaver. Every Longaberger basket is made of hardwood maple for strength and it is double splinted and double woven. This one is in bold red…a limited edition color and designed to hold 3×5 recipe or index cards. But, if you can’t wait to win or want to give one as a gift or treat yourself, you may order it here. It is available in three other stain colors as is called the Large Recipe, designed to hold 4×6 inch cards. I’ve had one for a very long time and can’t imagine not having it in my kitchen.
It’s easy to enter this giveaway….

It’s an extraordinary day when we are grateful in all things that come our way. I’m especially grateful for the friendship I’ve been blessed to have with my daughters. As adult women now, they inspire me, teach me, challenge me and share an incredible sisterhood that fills my cup to the brim!
Tracy that is wonderful! I so wish that I would have had that with my mom. What an extraordinary mother you must be.

What a blessing you are! 🙂
I agree, every room can benefit from a bit of red – mine do!
I wrote this for my friend when she moved to heaven:
To honor the life of my true and dearest friend Mary –
From the seed planted in my heart October, 1978, the roots of mentor and teacher grew, watered by her kindness, love, humility and truth it became a tree of friendship, sheltering me and hung with the golden fruit of sweet memories.
She Loved Well.
Just thinking of her makes me smile! Mary was extraordinary!
Elaine….you are a treasure! What a lovely sentiment about your extraordinary friend. She must have been a wonderful joy for you. [hugs]
That’s beautiful. What a true friend.

Just repinned (Tracy Rusteck) the friendship quote from Thomas Jefferson. So very true….may we all have more sunlight in our lives. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks!!
I’m guessing that you have lots of sunlight in your life Tracy!! 🙂
I’m rep inning this. As a first grade teacher we kept a weather chart and sunny days long overtook any other kind of days for us. Sometimes I’d wish for a change!! But not truly for sunshine is so nice. Friends are many in sunshine. True friends carry and share an umbrella on the rainy days, I’ve found.
“True friends carry and share an umbrella on the rainy days” – Yes, the do Gwen. What a blessing to have friends like that. I’m certain you surely do. [hugs]
Oh I do follow you and pinned
My name is Gwen on Pinterest
Gwen Condit is the full name
Yay!!!!!! 😀
Okay–I’m a sucker for red. I think it had something to do with growing up a redhead and being told not to wear it. LOLOL Of course I do….rule breaker that I am! I have two favorite red dresses that folks call my ‘power dress’. *laughing* NOT sure that’s accurate, but I do walk a bit lighter and a bit more confident with red for some reason. (probably that anti-rule bit in me) 😉
What a generous soul you are–and what generous folks you’ve surrounded yourself with to help you celebrate your anniversary week go lovingly. You put a lot of work into making this week special for the folks who show up at this little corner of cyberspace. Totally unnecessary–but extremely thoughtful and giving of you. I celebrate everyone’s good fortune–they’re all winners just by crossing your path.
JUST sayin’…
OH! And my little saying about friendship?
The only one that comes to mind is: “G-d made us friends because He thought our parents couldn’t handle both of us under the same roof.” LOL MIGHT be some truth in that in my case…. 😉
Haha!! I love that quote! I guess that’s why I was an only child…I was a handful for sure. 😀
Red head!! Oh Mel…that explains everything. Just kidding!! Maybe. LOL!
Thank you for your kind encouraging words. You’re the best, Mel! 😉
I have several Longaberger baskets. One of them I take each day to work with lunch, book, etc..it has been a part of my life for so long. I shared this on Facebook.
Terrific!!
I just found Longaberger on Pinterest and am following. My daughter Nicole introduced me to Pinterest. What a fun fun place to be inspired. My first Longaberger basket was the Tea Basket that I purchased in 1985. That little warmly-aged basket reminds me of gathering with a few friends in my small hometown of Alaska just enjoying the sharing of each other’s company. In essence, Longaberger has equaled friendship in my life. Best wishes for a great day!
I love your Longaberger story Tracy!!
Are you following Longaberger on my Pinterest page? Can you copy the URL and paste it here so I can check it out if that’s not the case? I’d love to see it too.
Blessings!
Sure! I’m following your Pinterest, including your Longaberger Board and I’m following Longaberger Company’s Pinterest.

I remember how you’ve said that you LOVE red!!!
Best wishes Julie!!
Thanks for all of your help!!! Love Longaberger!
Let me know if I can do more Diane…really!! 😉
Love Longaberger!
Now would we have any doubts? [wink] 😉
Red Longaberger basket ?!? It doesn’t get any cuter than that!!!
My thoughts precisely!!!!
I’m building a new house right now and have red accents in my country kitchen (going to have a barn-red Big Chill fridge….don’t worry, it will be really cute.) That red Longaberger basket would be super cute.
I’m going to want to see some photos. 😉
Longaberger baskets are the best accents for a country kitchen
Any style kitchen.,..not just country.
They may be just the textural interested needed for even the most contemporary.
In my humble opinion…hahaha!
…or any other room in the house. :0)
Thanks for posting all of the pics of beautiful kitchens….I always look forward to seeing them!
I’m so glad you like them. It’s kind of a fun thing to do and I love everyone’s reactions. Don’t hesitate to weigh in on them. 😉
