Last summer I wanted so badly to be at the lake that I created my own view of the lake…

If you’re a sand-in-her-toes, sunny day at the beach kind of gal, you, too can set a coastal vibe with DIY paintings you create.

Don’t say you can’t create art.  I’ve never painted like this and I painted this seascape.

You’ll never know unless you try.

Pop over to the original post and learn how I put together this fun coastal styled vignette.

Speaking of getting creative with DIYing…

Over the weekend I shared a round-up of some Pretty Extraordinary DIY Makeovers
which were linked up at last week’s Project Inspire{d} link party.

Diane, it’s always a pleasure! Thank you for hosting a great party!

  7. I am so impressed with your seascape painting Diane! I don’t think I could pull that off, but it’s beautiful 🙂

    • Diane says

Thank you, Melanie…you are so kind. I had a big “want” to have a seascape painting and lots of experience spending time on the beach at Lake Michigan staring out at the water and waves, so I just tried to paint from my memory. Maybe I wanted it so much it happened! LOL Seriously…just for fun, you should grab some of your paints and give it a try. I did the whole thing with 2 1/2 inch angle brush. Pretty funny, huh?

Thanks again, and thanks for coming by to link up each week. I love seeing your projects and I’m sure everyone else does too. 🙂
P.S. Is your account growing? How close are you to the goal?

  8. Kim says

Diane, I love your painting!!! It is beautiful and serene…a treasure to enjoy. I’ve linked up my posts, now I’m off to follow links and get social! 🙂 Hope you have a blessed day.

  9. Thanks for hosting!

  10. I am oh, SO late to the party but here nonetheless! One of my link ups is my lakeside decor at the home we will soon be moving away from. I should be packing but I had to decorate our lake house one last time. Thank you so much for hosting and blessings to you dear lady,
    Patti

    • Diane says

Patti….I totally ‘get’ where you are. Last summer when we I should have been packing I was finishing up my laundry room and creating coastal paintings and decor. Sometimes you just have to finish out the ideas you have. And “playing” also helps the stress.
Savor those final days at the lake as much as you can. They will be priceless. And…it’s never too late to link up. [hugs]

  11. Hello cute ladies! I’m loving your party. Thank you. Please swing by and party with us. We would be thrilled! http://loulougirls.blogspot.com
    Happy Tuesday! Lou Lou Girls

  13. Diane – this is amazing. You are a talented artist! I featured you today! Thanks so much for sharing on homework!!

    • Diane says

Thank you so much Carolyn. I really surprised myself with this one. 🙂 I guess it just proves that we should give ourselves opportunities to experiment. 🙂

  14. Tammy says

Wow love your painting ….so pretty

  15. Diane I adore you DIY painting and the display on the buffet! I will feature it today at Home Sweet Home!
    Sherry

  16. Awww… Sezane you just made my day!
Thanks for popping by and saying such nice things!
