Ring in the New Year with Ideas from AnExtraordinaryDay.net

My favorite way to ring in the New Year is by hosting a party at home.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t happen that often.  Usually after an incredibly busy Christmas season I have run out of steam and my party is just a dream by New Year’s Eve.

This year I had fun putting together a few ideas to ring in the New Year.

They aren’t New Year’s Eve specific.  If you host friends or family for a New Year’s brunch to watch the Rose Parade (Some day I’m going to see those floats up-close and personal and even behind the scenes!) or a lovely sit down dinner, you’ll love creating special memory book favors or easy beaded cookies.  You might even go crazy like I did a few years ago and make a New Year’s wreath or a really glitzy tablescape. One thing I know you’ll want to do, is to fill a candy dish with these super simple little golden nuggets.

Whenever we go to the Chinese take-away we come home with fortune cookies.  I love those little proverbs or encouragements. Usually they’re interesting, sometimes they’re funny, but once in a while, that little piece of paper has such a great saying that I might pin it up to remember.  That was the impetus I had in creating these little golden nuggets.  These golden nuggets are words of wisdom and scripture verses attached to a caramel candy.  They just might get pinned on an idea or bulletin board or slipped into a wallet or coin purse for a later reminder.  The one you receive might just be the nugget that starts your year on the right foot.  It might even give you a word or thought or focus or resolution for the New Year.

This is a super quick and easy project that you could even get the kids to do for you.
