Do you ever feel like God doesn't care about you? Encouragement here for those days when you feel that way. - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Just between us… do you sometimes feel like God doesn’t care?

It’s okay… you’re not alone.

We all feel like that sometimes.

As I was preparing to write this post, I had a sense that you needed to be reminded just how much God cares for you.

God. Our big God.  The Creator of the universe. The One who had you in His mind’s eye before you were even conceived. Yes… that amazing, powerful, just, strong, amazing, faithful, loving, and tender God… He loves you and cares for you intimately.

And…

Just in case you need further validation… here are some scripture verses to remind you.

Momma and Papa geese with their sweet baby goslings. A reminder of God's care for YOU. - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

In between the scripture verses are photos I took of a pair of geese and their precious goslings.

Momma Goose and Papa Goose each had their eyes on me while I was taking these photos.  They were chattering at their babies and directing their little flipper feet to move away from me and follow them.  Even though I was using my telephoto lens and trying to stay discretely in the background… their desire to protect their little fluff balls had them on full alert and I was considered armed and dangerous.

That little encounter reminded me of how very much God cares for us.  He’s always with us… alert to what is happening around us… looking out for our best interests… and ready with provision and directions if we will simply trust Him for what we need.

Scripture verse to remind us of God's care for us from Matthew 6 - You are worth more than birds. - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Look at the birds in the air. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, but your heavenly Father feeds them. And you know that you are worth much more than the birds. You cannot add any time to your life by worrying about it. Matthew 6:26-27 NCV

When you don't feel like God cares... scripture verses to encourage and comfort - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

“And why do you worry about clothes? Look at how the lilies in the field grow. They don’t work or make clothes for themselves. But I tell you that even Solomon with his riches was not dressed as beautifully as one of these flowers. God clothes the grass in the field, which is alive today but tomorrow is thrown into the fire. So you can be even more sure that God will clothe you. Don’t have so little faith! Don’t worry and say, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ The people who don’t know God keep trying to get these things, and your Father in heaven knows you need them. Seek first God’s kingdom and what God wants. Then all your other needs will be met as well.”  Matthew 6:28-33 NCV

 “What’s the price of a pet canary? Some loose change, right? And God cares what happens to it even more than you do. He pays even greater attention to you, down to the last detail—even numbering the hairs on your head!” Matthew 10:29-31 MSG

Even we it doesn't feel like it... God's cares for you - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

As high as heaven is over the earth,
so strong is his love to those who fear him.
And as far as sunrise is from sunset,
he has separated us from our sins.
As parents feel for their children,
God feels for those who fear him.
He knows us inside and out,
keeps in mind that we’re made of mud.
Men and women don’t live very long;
like wildflowers they spring up and blossom,
But a storm snuffs them out just as quickly,
leaving nothing to show they were here.
God’s love, though, is ever and always,
eternally present to all who fear him,
Making everything right for them and their children
as they follow his Covenant ways
and remember to do whatever he said.  Psalm 103:11-18 MSG

Scriptures verses to meditate on when you need to be reminded of God's care for you - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

I’m an open book to you;
even from a distance, you know what I’m thinking.
You know when I leave and when I get back;
I’m never out of your sight.
You know everything I’m going to say
before I start the first sentence.
I look behind me and you’re there,
then up ahead and you’re there, too—
your reassuring presence, coming and going.
This is too much, too wonderful—
I can’t take it all in!  Psalm 139:1-6 MSG

More than the birds of the air - God cares for you - AnExtraordinaryDay.net

“What I’m trying to do here is get you to relax, not be so preoccupied with getting so you can respond to God’s giving. People who don’t know God and the way he works fuss over these things, but you know both God and how he works. Steep yourself in God-reality, God-initiative, God-provisions. You’ll find all your everyday human concerns will be met. Don’t be afraid of missing out. You’re my dearest friends! The Father wants to give you the very kingdom itself.” Luke 12:30-32 MSG

    Joy!!
    1. Started meditating and illustrating in my new Bible for journaling
    2. I did complete all needed to be done –without help so all were surprised–and Tylenol helped with pain
    3. Very fun evening. Great time with 17 of us laughing. From all years of my life. I’m still friends with one from 4th grade!! Now I don’t live close to that town but we are staying in touch. Such fun
    4. Curt reads verses yet his pain so great his hip went out and he fell yesterday.
    5. My first entry in Bible Journal was for us Diane. It was Genesis 13. Abram rich in all ways, took in his nephew and they all got wealthier–but Abram lived in a tent. “content in a tent”. Later reading shows Lot taking the more fertile area for himself, he moved into a big house and was on the city’s council. Yet his ways did not follow Gods ways. Eventually ordered to leave, he still would not go toda cave despite warnings. He ended up on the run. Stuff not so great for him. But Abraham?? Still content in his tent.
    6. Let’s be content in our tent. Making sure to entertain strangers for some may be angels unaware. ?

    • Yes, Gwen…. we will be content in our tents. I’m finding new joy each day. 🙂
      I’m so excited for the wonderful evening you had in celebration. I love how it all came together for you.
      My heart hurts for Curt and you seeing him in such pain. Praying for immediate relief… but even more for God’s healing touch. Thanks for sharing your heart and bringing joy to our little space here. {{hugs}}

    • Dear sweet Darla… my heart hurts for you. Praying now and believing for God’s very best in and through your situations. May you sense His love, His presence, and His grace in overwhelming measure. {{hugs}}

    Your pictures are beautiful and inspirational. My partner has left indicating that she deserves better after 28 years. It’s been almost 2 years. My daughters are grown so that is a relief. However, I pray both my daughters would come close to God. It is hard to talk to them about spirituality when our Christian family is split. I do appreciate the blessings I do have, and there are many! I’m not bitter, just deeply hurt and shaken. It is true that my faith has grown and I would say that this has been transforming. Though the pain is not as severe, it is still very difficult. I’ve prayed for strength and relief but it seems as though my prayers are not being answered. There are times I wonder why I was even brought into this world. I believe that Jesus is my savior. My heart is open and I have faith. It is just hard to deal with the morning anxiety, the chest pains, the feeling that life has no purpose and the many tearful moments. I hope my time is short. There are so many people dealing with critical health problems. I wish I could trade my health for there critical health problems. It seems like it is going to be a long painful life. I guess this is what the Lord may want my life to be in his plan, I just hope it is short. Eternal life isn’t even important anymore. I just pray it all ends soon. God Bless You

    • Dear B…. You are so kind to remark on my photos and blog. Thank you!!
      My heart hurts with yours right now. 28 years is an incredibly long time… that makes the hurt even more intense. I am so sorry.
      My path is not your path… but I do know that even though I walk through the desert… and I do. I take comfort knowing that God is with me. I know what it feels like to pray day after day and not get the answers I want. It’s hard. Really hard. I know those moments of despair. Oh so well. Yet, I also know what it’s like to sit down, get out my journal and write… my prayers and my gratitude… and something happens each time I write down the things I’m thankful for. They might be as simple as sunshine, a bird landing on my railing, or even a clean kitchen sink. I write it all down and look for more. And then I meditate on a verse… often a psalm… I speak it and other verses out loud. I pray out loud… telling God all his wonderful characteristics… he is good, always with me, faithful, loving, powerful, strong, kind, etc. I work hard to train my mind to see the good and focus on God. You may already do these things… but I have found these to be helpful to me. One thing I’ve learned is that God loves you and me with an everlasting love… he cares about my pain… and more than anything he simply wants me to give it all to him and lean on him fully and trust him. The one thing he has asked of me is to trust him. It’s the hardest… but it’s the most freeing. When I do I “feel” better… my mind is in a better spot… and I look forward to living fully and beautifully. B… this is a journey… and it’s done ONE step at a time. Trusting God is the same. Our steps may falter… but he doesn’t. I’ll pray for you tonight and trust God to lift your spirits and to minister to your hurting heart. May you sense God’s amazing love and peace tonight. {HUGS}

  7. JeanMare says

    Hi. This blog has given me a lot to think about and it has made my heart a bit.calmer. I feel like my sins have pushed God away. People saying things to me that makes me doubt the image I had of God. It makes me now question if God has two sides. Is he loving, forgiving, graceful or is He a God that is unforgiving and wants to comit you to death, that turns His back and stops caring. I feel very unstable in my relationship with God. I have never felt like this. Please pray for me. I have accepted God as my personal saviour,but I struggle with addictions.

    • Dear JeanMare… God loves you with his everlasting love… you never ever have to doubt his love for you… it’s unconditional.
      I am lifting you up in prayer right now. May you have the assurance of his love and grace and be overwhelmed with God’s peace.

  9. Cath says

    I’ve seen it all how God loves us how plants spring up in the garden and the produce we can eat. It’s a wonderful feeling when you bike or hike in nature and can smell the breeze of flowers in the air. I can feel it in nature. I just can’t for the life of me see it in myself or others. I know God keeps telling me he loves me. It’s just so difficult. I have almost no friends. So I don’t go places much at all. It’s hard for me to be positive right now. I feel so alone even though all I have is the knowledge God loves me

  10. BH says

    • Dear BH… praying that your situation improves and that you sense God’s lavish love for you as you release your cares to him. {hugs}

    I’m sure your a nice person, God doesn’t care and does nothing tho I truly wish GOD help people in a time of need . We help each other, there’s your God of love, Are kindness not GOD’S . GOD has let me down most of my life, me thinking GOD cares left me in December when I had a finger ripped off my body at work , not having a father as a kid or my brother death or being set on fire at work . But December was it .. I think GOD is cruel and I hate him.
