…We continue to shout our praise even when we’re hemmed in with troubles, because we know how troubles can develop passionate patience in us, and how that patience in turn forges the tempered steel of virtue, keeping us alert for whatever God will do next. In alert expectancy such as this, we’re never left feeling shortchanged. Quite the contrary—we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
Romans 5:3-5 The Message
These verses encouraged my heart greatly.
Especially this…
…we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything
God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!
Is your heart encouraged?
Let’s live in “alert expectancy” my friends!
Today is Joy Day!
The day when we take time to count the gifts from the week, those blessings so undeserved, yet so precious.
Will you join with me in counting ‘seven’ from the past week?
I’ll start!
I’m grateful to God for…
- the encouragement of Your Word
- beautiful weather
- creative inspiration
- the generosity of a dear friend
- Aunt Ruth’s old blue Ball jars
- my sweet Poppy, even when she wakes me waaaay toooo early
- for the prayers of my blog friends
Now it’s your turn! Please join me by tapping in your ‘seven’ in the ‘share your extraordinary thoughts’ section below.
If you haven’t joined in doing this…please give it a try. Something amazing happens when we do this. I guarantee your Joy meter will rise. I just know during the week you’ll be looking forward to sharing again. [wink] Want even more joy? Take the Joy Dare here.
Thank you for stopping by today. I appreciate you and your sweet comments make my day.
May your heart overflow with the joy HE generously pours into our lives. And may you be filled with JOY!
Living in “alert expectancy”!

Since reading your first Joy Day post, I have joined in looking over my week and it has made me see all I really to have to be thankful for, great or small ~ you honestly have been a blessing to me and I actually see my outlook changing ~ This week, I am thankful that I have been blessed with a sense of humor because it gets me through many situations ~ We have tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden ~Enjoying a fresh tomato sandwich ~ Having some time to blog ~ Being blessed with a willingness to help someone without being asked or thinking twice ~ Moments that allow me to be creative and most importantly, I am thankful God let’s me make a U-Turn when I may have wandered off in the wrong direction! ~ Thank you so much Diane for your encouragement and helping my eyes to open much greater ~ Judi
Judi, your words are like a warm hug today!! You know…this is what makes blogging so worthwhile…being used to inspire….and making new friends in the process. God is good. And his goodness is so evident in your ‘seven.’
