Greater love has no one than this:
to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Today…I will remember those who are, and were, willing to pay the price of sacrifice.

So that we may have liberty.

Memorial Day :: The real sacrifice

Wyatt McCain, 8, from North Pole, Alaska, looks upon his father’s grave at the National Cemetery on Memorial Day in Arlington, Va. His dad, Army SFC Johnathan McCain, was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan in November 2011.

When we see the stars and stripes of our national flag waving in the wind….

Let us remember the sacrifice paid for our liberty.

And with grateful hearts give thanks.

May we stand against tyranny and for truth.

“…if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven,
and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
2 Chronicles 7:14

After 4″ of rain and random flash flooding, I wasn’t certain I’d get to the Memorial Day service this morning…but I did. Smalltown USA, we still gather and honour those who gave their lives. Taps always reduces me to tears, but it was good to be present….remembering, honouring, being graced to know freedom…
    (((( everyone ))))

Yes…Smalltown, USA…we live there too. It’s good to see the community come out to remember together and rejoice in what freedom we have. 🙂
