Gratitude changes everything…
Especially our hearts.
“When it comes to life the critical thing is,
whether you take things for granted
or take them with gratitude.”
Gilbert Chesterton
When I first came across this quote it stopped me in my tracks.
I know I am guilty of taking way too much for granted.
You too?
Let’s make a pact together to take things with Gratitude.
Are you in?

I don’t know. But I’m older and its easier to see gratitude in more places than ever before. A drink of water brought just when I need it. Gentle singing and praying over me. Letters in my mailbox on perfect days of need. Hummingbird eating from my last few trumpet orange honeysuckle even in the pouring rain. He seemed grateful I wasn’t prune-happy! I’m sad for a brace for no shoes fit and no more wearing my comfy cute boots that were made in Canada and are made to last…but my grateful part is I feel I’m walking straighter, and maybe soon my good foot will heal? I have an attitude of gratitude for Dr David Jeremiah who recorded his preaching soo I can hear a message from his pulpit on a Thursday morning on the benefits and why we are to fear God. My heart overflows in gratitude that the roof does not leak. Gratitude for Christian friends who send me encouragement in the midst of terrible, terrible trials of their own. How good God is. And I recall The fear of The Lord is the beginning of wisdom…so Lord, though my brain does not process chaos, noise, people, situations….despite that, I fear You in mighty reverence of gratitude for being Almighty, all knowing, all powerful, all present–and You reward me with wisdom. Despite what doctors say. For this Lord my heart flows with gratitude for You are mightier than mere mortal man. Oh Lord my heart is in overflowing gratitude for your Word, Your strength, that I a mere nobody in the worlds eyes, can go boldly to Your throne–I can be welcomed, allowed in, at any time–day or night. This floods me with gratitude that the very God I fear in awesome awareness of His might, power, strength , creative engineering, is also the God who loves me so dearly He said, Gwen I knew you before you were born. I even know how many hairs you’ve got! I made you unique. And I love you Gwen enough to give all that is the most dear to me–my Son–for You to be with me always. Oh for that how can I not burst with gratitude?!!! My God loves me!! Me!! He WILL provide for me even when I am old and gray and frail–my God will provide for me. He’s my shepherd! My Savior! Creator! Help in times of need! Rescuer! Provider! Lovely! Magnificent! Almighty! Counselor! Everlasting!!! Praise to You my God from whom ALL blessings flow!!!
After all that Gwen…all I can say is….AMEN!! Glory to God.
Praying daily for you and Curt. Believing. HE is able to do more than we can ask or imagine. [hugs]
