I could say it’s been one of those weeks.

We’ve all had them.

My world got turned upside down.

One thing I know for sure….

I could not have navigated these past few days without God’s help….

The Lord is my strength and shield :: Joy Day! :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

and your prayers, and the open arms of a few friends.

This verse speaks expresses my heart:

The Lord is my strength and shield.
I trust him with all my heart.
He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy.
Psalm 28:7

Today is Joy Day!

Whatever kind of week you’ve had….wonderful or just plain awful….
when we take time to give thanks things get better.

Our circumstances may not change…but what changes is our perspectives and our attitudes.

Best of all…when we count our gifts and blessings….we get joy.

Join me in looking back over the past week and counting ‘seven’ –
both the good and the not-so-good.

I’ll start…

Thank you God for…

  1. the hope you give us in the waiting.  Each day brings us closer our dream.
  2. living the reality of this verse: The Lord is my strength and shield.
  3. so many Facebook readers saying YES to praying for me and being buoyed by all the prayers.
  4. Poppy, Lily, and Taylor and the memories I’ll always treasure.
  5. friends with open hearts and arms.
  6. safe travels to our new destination.
  7. receiving my first “paycheck” for a post.

*sigh* This doesn’t sound like a ‘fun’ upside down. I’m saddened to hear this. And as much as I trust My Maker, I reserve the right to not always be pleased with the course of things. I know it will be for the good….but I still am the spunky gal He created me to be. :-/
      Regardless….there is joy and gratitude
      –we have lightening bugs!!
–and we have seven baby ground squirrels!! LOL
–and yesterday we had an a.m.a.z.i.n.g sunset.
–I talked with the sister…always a huge source of joy.
      –I remain employed.
–I have a loving spousal unit who celebrates those 7 baby ground squirrels. LOL!!
–I have a Maker who created me with such sassiness! 😉

      • Diane says

Oh. My. Goodness. If he’s celebrating those seven babies with you then he must be deserving of a special medal. [teehee] They are the cutest things and oh boy are they little pests in the garden.
I have seen a few lightning bugs…but nothing like what we saw in PA where the tree looked like it was filled with fairy (miniature twinkling) lights.
God is good and I love how he created YOU!! [hugs]

Hi Diane…one of those weeks, huh? Just when we think we cannot endure one more problem, two crash down on us. I feel for you and all the other ladies out there who have had those times (is there anyone who hasn’t?) The end result for me it that I fall on my knees and peace comes. Christ endured more than I will ever be able to comprehend. That puts my world into perspective. This is a sinful world…we are guaranteed to have grief, sorrows, tragedies, yearning wants and needs and GOD KNOWS ALL ABOUT IT!!!!! and is there for us, for comfort, guidance, direction, and help. I pray for you, Diane, that your prayers will be answered and that your heart will be filled with joy and thanksgiving and at peace. May your destination be sure and changes come soon. Blessings!
