A whole Fall’s worth of Extraordinary Little Things!
How many of these little things do we pass by each day, but are so busy scurrying around that we fail to stop and enjoy just one, for just a moment? Take my twenty….jotted down as the memories of these extraordinary favorites came to mind. What if….upon arriving home and stepping out of the car we took a few moments to soak in just a few of the little things I counted around us?
I might notice the yellow leaves of the Weeping Cherry beautifully littering my brick walkway as I step towards the house. Maybe I need to fill my lungs with the cool crisp air….or look up to the mountainside and see the patchwork of reds and oranges emerging from the tweed of green.
What would you notice?
Slowing down and filling our senses with nature’s beauty around us….that’s living life more fully.
When I intentionally choose to do that….
peace resides in my heart….
previous difficulties seem insignificant.
It’s An Extraordinary Day!
Join me in this…

A lovely basket to be filled with extraordinary fall goodness!!
Such a good list! I was just eating Concord grapes and they were delicious! Stopping by from The Inspired Room. Happy Fall!
Thanks Jen! We brought a trug of Concords home from the Farmer’s Market on Saturday….the aroma filled our kitchen…yum! That was Fall!! Wishing you a blessed Fall!
Thanks for linking up to the Fall Nesting Party {20 Little Things}! Your list is very inspiring and I can see a few things I really want to add now to my own list!! 🙂 Thanks, Diane!! Happy fall!
It’s been a couple years since I “met you” through one of your Fall Nesting series. How fun is it now, for me to be able to join in too! Thanks for your “hospitality” and sweet spirit!
Love your list and it made me think I left some things off mine. It is the little things or the simple things that mean the most. Great list!
Thank Elaine! It really is those little simple things…like hearing the song of the Tufted Titmouse every morning in the fall. It puts a smile on my face every time that little feathered friend sings. Happy Fall!
I love watching songbirds at our birdfeeder, too. I am wondering how much longer the Goldfinches will be visiting us.
When I lived in NY State I had Goldfinches all fall and winter. We’ve only had an occasional one here in PA. I hope yours stay all season too. Have you ever noticed that they seem to flock to the feeder when it rains?
The more lists I see, the more things I find could have been on mine. I enjoy the beauty of nature around me every day.
I know!! So many lists have things I love but didn’t write down. Isn’t it fun?
Those zinnias are stunning. So colourful and cheery. This season just calls out to pay attention, doesn’t it? So much beauty and wonder to absorb.
I love that: “This season just call out to pay attention.” We surely are blessed to have so much beauty around us. 😀 Happy Fall!
Diane – you’re so right about stopping to savor and enjoy the beauty right in front of us. In that, there is most definitely peace. Loved your post – and your photos.
Thank you Lisa! I snapped those pics a few years ago at one of my favorite apple barns. It was fun to relieve happy memories again.
I enjoyed reading your list, and your thoughts Diane. You are right. We need to take a little time each day to recognize and enjoy God’s creation. It puts everything else in perspective!
And doesn’t He create the most beautiful world?!
Happy Fall!
Stopping over from The Inspired Room … Love your fall list! It is amazing how many of the little things we do let slip by. An occasional list is a great way to keep our perspective. I enjoyed your thoughts; savoring the day is so important!
Thanks for your kind words Jen! 😀
I love your list! I have to admit that I am mostly a summer kind of girl but I do love a few things about fall: the way the trees change color here in the Midwest, watching my boys play soccer, sleeping especially when we get that extra hour back!, and is it pathetic to say I look forward to the new TV shows that premier even if I only catch an occasional episode of them?
Ha! I have had that summer/fall tension too this year. I love so many things about fall…..once it’s here. But, letting go of summer was difficult this year, especially. Enjoy your TV time!
Wonderful, I love fall also. Thanks for visiting!
Great list! I know I need to slow down and really see the beauty all around me.
My word for the year was intentional….I think it has helped. A bit. 😀
Your list is fun, Diane. I forgot zinnias.
I am a wee bit late to the party but glad to link up.
Fondly,
Glenda
