Need true peace?
Actually, most days it’s amazing that I am not completely overwhelmed and stressed to the max.
The only thing that keeps me from a full-blown panic attack is trusting God.
The only thing.
I’m a doer. A fixer. And right now I can’t do or fix anything. Everything is out of my control.
Except for one thing.
I can choose to trust God.
My mind can invent every scenario imaginable.
My mind can be paralyzed so that it’s impossible to accomplish anything.
Or…
I can choose to focus instead on God and his power and his promises…
I can trust him to work this in between time for my good and his glory.
You can too.
Need true peace?
You, Lord, give true peace
to those who depend on you,
because they trust you. Isaiah 26:3
Join me in depending on God….
Trusting God….
the result is true peace.
Today is Joy Day!
The day when we take time to look back over our past week and count the gifts and blessings from the week. I’m reminded that some gifts aren’t exactly pleasant. Yet, in all things we are to give thanks.
Please join me in counting just ‘seven’ from the past week.
I’ll start…
God, I’m so thankful for…
- Drivers who wave at us as we walk along the back roads.
- The most encouraging words for last week’s post when I felt so empty. That’s only God.
- A delightful dinner with good friends.
- Prayer.
- Finally reaching 1000 fans on Facebook.
- Seven-year-old shoes that are holding up well.
- YOU and knowing that you are completely worthy of my trust.
Now it’s YOUR turn!!

Thanks so much for this encouragement, Diane! I too am under great stress and could be anxious were it not for my trust in God and His faithfulness and sovereignty over the events of our lives. Here are my seven:
1. Having God’s Word at my fingertips and in my heart, to turn to at any time.

3. That when we cast our burdens on the Lord, He sustains us.
