Here we are… Christmas Eve Eve! Are you ready? Today I’m having a friend over and doing a little baking for tomorrow, it’s kind of nice to not have to be running all over the place or scurrying for last minute gifts. I did that yesterday. And with two short stops it was done. Yay!
In the midst of the hustle and bustle, I hope that you’re able to take a few minutes with a cup of tea, music low, lights low, the tree glowing, and sit. And in those moments ponder the reason for this great expenditure of effort and energy. May your heart be overwhelmed with the reason… the gift… God’s amazing gift of love… the Word – Jesus… becoming human.
Whatever stresses of the season you face… Jesus knows. He really knows. He doesn’t want you to go through it on your own. Lean into Him. Hard. Trust Him. Let go! Let Him. Now breathe… again… ask Him for His peace. And may it permeate you all day and through the rest of the season. May you sense the amazing love He has for you… and may your spirit be restored.
Now take a second look at your to-do list… pray and ask God to show you what’s important and what’s not. Don’t do any more than you must. It’s okay. And you will be more than okay when you let go of the unimportant.
If you’re entertaining… there are some things that must be done… others just aren’t necessary.
Appetizers often fall into the not-so-necessary category. At least the before dinner appetizers. However, if you’re entertaining and you’re serving appetizers rather than a meal then I’ve got you covered. Okay… I won’t be making them for you… but I have some pretty tasty recipes for you to choose from.
I’ll let you in on a little secret… when it comes to entertaining, I have one particular area of weakness… appetizers. I often forget them, and I don’t have a large repertoire of appetizer recipes. So I was excited to see that some delicious and unusual appetizers were shared this week at Project Inspire{d}! There are almost a dozen delicious-looking appetizer recipes for you to try this week! Now you’ll be ready for this weekend and your New Year’s Eve parties, and even upcoming game day events with family and friends. So take a few minutes to kick back, relax, and check out all the features… and don’t forget to pin this and your favorites, too.
