Do you have any regrets from 2012?
I know that is a silly question. I’m guessing that most of us have a regret or two.
One of mine is that I started Ann Voskamp’s “Joy Dare” last February and was mostly faithful to it, most of the time. (Please click the link to learn more.) Maybe you have been well-intentioned like that too. And then when my computer crashed…well that was the end of my little online journaling of gifts. I must say, that it has been one of the best things I have ever done, along with reading Ann’s book, One Thousand Gifts.
This is a New Year…and we get fresh do-overs. And maybe…it would help if we would do this together. A community of joy…encouragers. I know that I am going to need your encouragement more than ever. Today I embarked on a new journey…one I never imagined, and one for which I so much need your prayers.
We are already counting our blessings every Sunday – Joy Day! I plan to continue that. But, let’s take a big step and start counting gifts every day…3 a day…until we reach the end of the year. I dare you to do it and see the difference. Will you take me up on it?
Here’s the link to the Joy Dare prompts. You can print it out, or refer to it on line, like I do, each day. I keep a document on my desktop to click and jot down the prompted gifts each day. And often I add a few extras also. Really…there is so much to give thanks for every day. You might choose to create a journal or maybe even purchase Ann’s devotional journal. Whatever form your recording of gifts takes….please join me on this journey and take the Joy Dare!!
Are you in?
Love,
Diane

I’m in! Just printed out the Joy Dares and plan on keeping a journal 🙂
WooHoo!!!! Sue, you are going to be soooo very glad you did!!
{hugs!}
Regrets?
Hmmm…I guess the most recent one is not watching where I was walking! LOL Darn broken leg…..
Yaknow….I’m pretty good at living in TODAY and taking care of things that I ‘oughta’ done, quickly and purposefully. I’m all too aware that I could breed resentments and angers, disappointments and regrets in very short order if I didn’t take care of my ‘business’ on a daily basis. It’s how I stay right with me, it’s how I stay right with other people.
The joy challenge– OH BOY!! Have I not made it abundantly clear that I’m a whiner? LOL
Yes, I know……more reason to stay focused on the joys!
Okay……fine!
I’d love to.
Count me in!
(*laughing* I don’t believe I just said that!!)
P.S. You’re being prayed for on this new journey that’s beginning.
P.S.P.S. I adored One Thousand Gifts! Passed it on and hope it’s still making it’s rounds!
You have no idea how much that means to me! 😀
I’m going to give the book a second read. 😀
I just realized that my original reply to your comment disappeared. Oh, do I hope that your leg is sure and strong as soon as you are healed and free from that purple weight.
Where would I be without the prayers of dear ones like you? {hugs}
Awww sweet friend…I hope that leg heals really really fast.
Thanks for joining me in the dare. I had no idea how much it would be needed.
{hugs}
Hi Diane,
I am in too. It is very much like a treasure hunt isn’t it? My husband actually helped me look today – for the light and shadows.
Also I asked awhile ago if I could reprint What Not Pray? for Under the Cover of Prayer? I can’t find your answer in my emails. please email me at authorjaniscox@gmail.com
Thanks,
Janis http://www.janiscox.com
Hi Janis!
It’s the best kind of treasure hunt!!
I just went through my sent e-mails and couldn’t find my response either. However, I do very much remember sending you a reply. And the answer was…Yes! 😀 I am humbled that you would even have an interest in doing that.
Blessings…
