Makin’ it Red, White, and Blue for Summer

From Memorial Day through the Fourth of July, I love accenting my home with stars and stripes.

This sweet kitchen sets the stage beautifully for Christmas decorating, fall decor, or yes….a spectacular Fourth of July. It’s so easy to do with the addition of a mason jar filled with American flags, a collection of bowls or containers in any combination of reds, whites, and blues.  And of course table runners, napkins, place mats, and dishes in those colors make my eyes dance.  Add in a floral arrangement in our country’s colors for truly inviting decor.

 

 

I’ve pretty much decided that I when I have an opportunity to decorate again, I need to go with all white and neutrals, so that I can change up color accents for the seasons on my whim. For sure I want to make a big splash with red, white, and blue for summer.

Decorating for a patriotic holiday is easy, because in addition to an American flag, or two, or twenty, I love to use things that are a normal part of my home decor, that just happen to be in patriotic colors.

 

Red and blue are mainstays in my decor.  I always have my eyes open to find items in those colors that can be used throughout the year.  Reds that will play well for the Fourth, Valentine’s Day, and Christmas.  Blues look wonderful for our patriotic holidays and all summer long.  I also enjoy a few blues in my Christmas decor as well as for a snow theme in January.

    Oh, how I would love to have a truck like in the 1st picture and a kitchen like in the 2nd picture!!! I’m a huge fan of red, white and blue, too, and I sure wish my house lent to it on the inside. We have that crazy oak cabinetry, though, so I’m having a hard time trying to figure it out. I’ll get there someday, though!
