“Is anything too hard for the Lord? No!”
Genesis 18:14
Can you imagine sitting on your porch, resting at the heat of the day, and having the God of the universe stepping towards you on your walkway with two men? Seriously, that is mind-blowing. That was a day in the life of Abraham. If that wasn’t enough, God and his two companions sat down and ate a meal with him. During their conversation, God remarked, that a year from then Abraham and his wife Sara would have a son. Now Sara was way, way past child-bearing years, so when she heard this remark, she laughed. Out loud. Of course she was heard. I love God’s response. “Is anything too hard for the Lord? No!” (Genesis 18:1-5)
Maybe you’re in a season like Sara… A season where you’ve placed your hope on the shelf. A season where doubt has crept in. A season where everything looks bleak like my view out the window of steely gray skies bearing down on stark leafless tree branches.
I think the Lord’s response to you would be the same as it was for Sara.
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? No!”
The ONE who created this vast amazing universe upon which we are just a speck, knows you, loves you, and wants to be intimately involved in every detail of your life.
What is it that you have given up on?
Is it too hard for the Lord?
No!
What do we do then?
Take him at his word.
Believe that what he said to Sara is also true for you and your situation.
And when it’s hard to trust and believe..
Say, “Lord, help my unbelief.”
That’s what a father asked of Jesus.
You see he had brought his son to Jesus to be released from an evil spirit.
The man at first said, “If you can do anything for him, please have pity on us and help us.”
And Jesus said to him (almost incredulously), “If You can?”
“All things are possible to him who believes.”
Immediately the boy’s father cried out and said, “I do believe; help my unbelief.” (Mark 9:14-27)
I don’t doubt God.
I know he can do infinitely more than we can ask or imagine. (Ephesians 3:20)
I even trust him.
But sometimes, when things look they will never. ever. turn around, my “believing” gets a little shaky.
It’s times like that when I pray the same words as the boy’s father… Lord, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”
What are the giants in your life?
What are the things that just never. ever. change?
What is it that you quit hoping for?
“Is anything too hard for the Lord? No!”
Jesus says, “All things are possible to him who believes.”
Let’s say to the Lord, “I do believe; help my unbelief.”
Joy Day!
When we go through tough times, we need joy. One of the best ways to get joy is to reflect on our past week and count our blessings…large and small. Looking for the good in the midst of the not-so-good, too. And in all, telling God, “thanks.”
Won’t you join me in counting just ‘seven’?
I’ll start!
Thank you God for…
- showing me in your word that nothing is too hard for you.
- the best FB followers ever! Sharing my plea and gaining me more than 400 new friends this week. Wow!
- helping me through a difficult physical pain.
- showing me that you are the one whom I am to lean on.
- a loving caring husband.
- friends who are family.
- knowing you have a plan I’ll soon get to see unfold.
Now it’s your turn!
In the ‘share your extraordinary thoughts” below, list your ‘seven.’
I dare you!
Watch…. your joy meter will rise.
Want even more joy? Take the Joy Dare here.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I appreciate you and your sweet comments make my day.
Joyfully!
Diane

I am grateful to God:
1.I really wanted Charles Stanley’s new devotional “Everyday in His Presence” that was due to be released Nov.4th; I intended Saturday to go to the Christian Book Store to see when they would have them and the price, the soft leather bound cover was $25.00. But when I got home Friday Oct.3lst there was a copy in the mail sent from Intouch Ministries! I was beyond excited and Thanked God for His wonderful surprise…
2. for the opportunity the Lord has given me to touch the lives of two women that I work with!
3. getting one of the greatest compliments that I have ever had from one of these women who has only been with us for 90 days, that I reached out to and just clicked with from the start! She told me on Thursday Morning that she had had a rough night and that just thinking of me and how kind and supportive that I had been with her; my prayers for her and her family, brought her such peace, she was able to calm down and rest.
4. For an ever increasing Peace in my Current situation that has not changed as of yet, but Know that He is using this time to work everything for my benefit!!
5. that my PC is still working!
6. for a wonderful restoration of a working relationship that has been very strained!
7. for all the wonderful, Godly, Spirit filled Christians that the Lord has sent to guide and teach me on my Christian Journey!
Oh Debbi, I am so excited to hear how God is moving in your life, blessing you richly, and using you in the lives of so many. You are a wonderful inspiration to me, too. Thank you for your faithfulness in trusting God through the challenges.

Things to be thankful for:
1. We are singing bilingual music at my church that is my ¨Dad’s music,¨ and because of the Dia de los Muertos, have been singing beautiful funeral songs as well. We don’t have my Dad’s death certificate yet, so it is sweet to honor him through the music, just by happenstance, even though there’s been no funeral yet.
2. Kind friends who are supportive through my grief.
3. A new computer, for free!
4. Seeing my brothers after many years apart.
5. Needing to take a train on short notice, and having the exact amount of money still left on my transit card. Amen!
6. My mom’s continued recovery.
7. Sweet hugs and good behavior from my students.
Teresa, I rejoice with you at God’s love and goodness expressed to you in so many wonderful ways.
