How was your week?

Some days or weeks everything seems to go well.

Others….not so much.

Psalm 13:6 :: I will sing to the Lord :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

One thing I’ve been learning is….that regardless of my circumstance….God is always good to me.

Here’s the New Living Translation of Psalm 13:5&6:

But I trust in your unfailing love.  I will rejoice because you have rescued me.
I will sing to the Lord  because he is good to me.

What a great verse to meditate on when you’re in a difficult circumstance.

I’m guessing you’re wondering why I would say that.

It’s imperative that we speak truth into our minds and hearts.

So, read this verse out loud.  By doing so, you are speaking truth to yourself, and praising God not only for what he has done…

but for what he will do.

I thought you’d enjoy seeing this same verse (Psalm 13:5-6) from The Message:

I’ve thrown myself headlong into your arms—I’m celebrating your rescue.
I’m singing at the top of my lungs, I’m so full of answered prayers.

I’ll be honest.  My current situation may not look like God has rescued me.  But, he has surely provided for us in unimaginable ways.

All my prayers may not be answered….but I am ‘full’ of answered prayers.  Several were answered before I even prayed.

Yes…God is always good.  Always!

Joy Day! 8/25 :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

It’s Joy Day!

I love Joy Day!  There isn’t anything better than each of us sharing the good things God has done in our lives this week.  Both in the happy and in the challenges.

Will you join with me in counting ‘seven’ from the past week?

I’ll start!

I‘m grateful to God for…

  1. the beauty of sunsets, and flowers, enjoyed on each evening’s walk.
  2. the best sweet corn, enjoyed nearly every day all week long.
  3. your faithfulness, God!
  4. your amazing way of providing for our needs.  God you blow me away!
  5. help in packing all the china…of which I have a ‘wee’ bit. 😉
  6. dear friends who are opening their home to us.
  7. praying friends….even those I’ve never met in person on the blog.

And isn’t it a funny thing that I could hardly stop at ‘seven.’  I wanted to keep tapping in more goodness of the Lord.

Now it your turn!  Please join me by tapping in your ‘seven’ in the ‘share your extraordinary thoughts’ section below.

  1. Thankful for:
    1. Every butterfly that reminds me of Delainey.
    2. A husband who helps around the house without being asked, just to help me out. (vacuuming) 🙂
    3. Our new rescue dog, Chloe, a Mini-Aussie. She’s so sweet but needs some rehab (emotionally).
    4. God’s never-ending love, faithfulness and grace.
    5. The stars at night.
    6. A beautiful blue moon captured in photos by John.
    7. A comfortable home.

Thanks for sharing your ‘seven’ Susan. 🙂
What a blessed week you enjoyed.
May your new week overflow with HIS Joy!

  2. Carolyn says

    Dear Diane,
    1. A little place we were given on a small hidden lake in a neighboring state.
    2. Without my husband, there would be no lake house. He is the “maintenance man w/the moistest”!
    3. Our shared faith & the wonder of God’s provision; we never even dared dream of a second home!
    4. Health & means, though somewhat limited, to take care of our properties as good stewards.
    5. Family! Our smallest grandchild is a continual delight, just as the other 6 have been.
    6. A church home where we know some really godly friends who accept & love us.
    7. A terrific pastor who preaches the Word w/o or hesitation–today was about covetousness. What a word to this generation! I know we constantly see lots of “stuff”–may we learn to admire w/o having to possess things. (Learned from Foster’s book, Celebration of Freedom or was it Freedom of Simplicity? Both are great reads!)

      Yay…God!! I feel your joy, Carolyn. 🙂
Rejoicing with you in God’s generous provision of a lake house.
I’ll need to make note of those books…they are new to me. As I pack I’m feeling the too much stuff thing. Ugh.
May your week be filled with JOY!!
      Hugs! ~Diane

  3. Gwen says

Oh already it is JOY day!! How I’ve come to look forward to this day. I will start this post with saying Oh Lord, Our Father, You are Holy. You have things planned and they will come, Your will, may it be done in my life here on earth as it will be in heaven. Lord, I come to you for needs for Diane and for me to have needs–basic needs met. For Diane, she has tried, and doors close not open. Lord there needs to be a job for her husband to be able to provide a house, and food and water. These You have promised to provide in Your Word and so we claim them now, in Jesus name. Forgive us sins and sins we’ve done against others. Let us radiate Christ in the midst of hard times. Yours is the kingdom. It is Yours. The Power is Yours. And all GLORY TO YOU LORD forever and forever Amen
    1. Dinner made for us for tonight and enough for tomorrow
    2. Flowers from a friend that are so very pretty! Delivered from a florist!!!
    3. My Mom is improved and gets to leave rehab and even gets PT even longer!! (95 and well otherwise except blind)
    4. My friend took me to an appointment and then took me joyriding down our latest new crosstown freeway. We laughed that a 25 minute trip took 5 minutes and we turned around and drove back to the end! Such thrills in small towns!!
    5. My sister likes her new to her house and calls enthused even though I get sad as I miss her, I’m joy filled she is happy and closer to her husbands work now.
    6. Nice notes from cousins this week on the computer
    7. Our Lord is with us. No one can defeat those trusting in His Word.

    • Diane says

I just took a second to break from packing and Gwen…your prayer brought tears to my eyes. You have such a ministry of prayer and encouragement. What a lovely blessing. In the name of Jesus, I pray in agreement. Amen.
Joy!! Always….regardless. I rejoice with you at your wonderful and blessed ‘seven.’
      [hugs]
      Diane
