Last year I made a layer cake and decorated it under the guidance of an experienced cake decorator.

Most or us don’t have an experienced cake decorator at our disposal. But, one thing we do have… is Craftsy.
As an introduction to their new eGuides, and for a limited time, you can download a FREE Craftsy eGuide on a variety of topics. I’m pretty sure, you’ll want to download this Cake eGuide: “Not-So-Basic Buttercream Decorating Ideas.”
Most of us like to dabble in a variety of areas, so feel free to check out these FREE eGuides as well:
- Photography eGuide: Understanding Exposure for Better Photos Now: Beginner Photography Tutorials
- Paper Crafts eGuide: 6+ Stash-Busting Paper Craft Projects
- Painting eGuide: Beginner’s Guide to the World of Watercolor
- Gardening eGuide: Success With Container Gardening
- Food & Cooking eGuide: Delicious Doughnut Recipes You Can Make at Home
Watercoloring has been on my list to try for sometime now. I may not get around to dabbling in it for a while, but I’m going to download the free guide for sure!

Thanks so much for the feature. I’ve pinned this for future reference because I have a huge sweet tooth. 🙂 🙂 And what a great idea to learn cake decorating from Craftsy. I love them. I think the watercolor tutorial would be fun to try too! Have a great weekend!

Your cake is gorgeous, Diane! I’ve never studied cake decorating or even tried my hand at it. It’s been on my list for years. Thanks for sharing the Crafty eGuide ~ I’m going to head on over and download it! Have a wonderful week ~ hugs, mb
Thank you!!! I was amazed at how much I enjoyed “playing” with frosting, Mary Beth! I love sculpting in various mediums (that sounds really artsy and I’m not, but it is the best example I can give. LOL) and I think that might be why I enjoyed my cake decorating experience. I’m sure you’d have fun too!
Happy Monday! See you tonight! 🙂
