Happy Spring!  The sun is shining... it's freezing cold... and there's snow in the forecast.  BUT!  It's spring and where some of you live, the trees are bursting with green and flowers are blooming.  Here, the robins are singing and I saw some pussy willows as I buzzed along a country road.  I think I need to go to the flower shop and purchase some daffodils to celebrate Spring's arrival.  What do you think? How was your weekend? We had amazingly warm weather... hitting 50 degrees two days in a row.  Of course we had a reality check today as the temperatures dipped and a few icy flakes fell from the gray skies.  It's been confirmed by the weather service that winter is still here... along with an expected 6-12 inches of new snow.  However... that did not dim my feelings for Spring.  Today I worked on projects involving pink and found something funk to share with you for St. Patrick's Day and Easter too. I am NOT a hopeless romantic... But I am excited for Valentine's Day.  It's so silly, but I really love all the fun, food, hearts, and whimsy associated with Valentine's Day.  It always gives me an excuse to create something in the kitchen or craft room.  Last year I had a ton of fun creating these Dainty Envelope Fruit Tarts.  Serving them and eating them.... was even more fun! Winter swept in yesterday... bringing the darkest skies, strong winds, and a small accumulation of crystals to scrape off the sidewalk and windshield.  After a wonderful and unseasonably warm entrance, Winter definitely turned her heel.  One day we're "enjoying" temps in the low 40's with rain and fog and the next... temps are in hovering in the teens. Gosh it feels cold!  Since there is a layer of ice under all this beauty, I think I'll wait a day or two before hitting the walks and roads for my daily constitutional.   Instead, I think I'll roast a chicken tonight to turn into chicken soup.  That sounds sooo … [Read more...]

I could hardly believe it!  We had sunshine today... all day! After endless days of gray... it was wonderful.  I decided to brave the cold winds and mid twenties to walk the beach.  There's just a trace of snow on the ground and a wee bit of ice... so unusual for the beginning of January.  But, I love it!  The sunshine was warm on my face and my spirit was renewed. The best lunch hour forever! Next to an hour in the sun at the beach... my favorite Monday fun is Project Inspire{d}! Rockin' around the Christmas tree... let the Christmas spirit ring! My tree has arrived! And yes... as soon as it is beautifully adorned...
