Did you know that I’m a DIY blogger?

Well, for some reason I didn’t.  I’ve been sharing stuff I made and even tutorials, but never thought to categorize myself that way.

Today I decided to see which posts have been the most read over the two and a half years I’ve been blogging.  Thanks to you… reading, pinning, and sharing my posts (You do, do that don’t you?  Because that is one of the nicest things you can do.  It’s like giving me a box of chocolates… only I won’t gain a pound from a lovely share.), and lots of people searching the internet and Pinterest, some posts have been seen, a lot!

Out of the 616 posts I’ve published, I discovered that except for three posts, everything else in the top thirty most-seen-posts is a DIY/makeover post.

I won’t bore you with the entire list, but here are the Top Viewed DIY Projects!

I was surprised!  And that made me realize that I am a DIY blogger.

My original goal in blogging was to help you (and me) live life more beautifully… in our skin and in our homes.  To live life to the full.  To make our homes a sanctuary and a place of joy and peace.  And yes, home decor was and is a big component in all of that.

I enjoy spending a day with my best friends stopping at fun spots for meals and browsing stores.  And if I have a some spare change in my pocket, I do enjoy picking up something for my home while on those excursions.  Feathering my nest is always a joy.  But, just like some of you, I usually don’t have spare change in my pocket and so I need to rethink things.  I need to work with what I have.  And most of the time that means that I need to repurpose, makeover, or create my home decor.  I’ve been doing that for several years now, and if my ship were to unexpectedly dock today, I think for the most part I would continue DIYing.

Sometimes we create out of necessity, but I’ve come to realize that these projects do much more for me than give me a new piece of decor for the house.  I NEED to be creative with my hands.  Since we’re made in the image of our Creator and HE is amazingly creative, it just makes sense that we would have an itch to create as well.

When I was a little girl, my dad used to say practice makes perfect.  Some of us spend more time creating than others, and in doing so we are often a little bit better out of the starting gate when it comes to creating or DIYing.  The more we ply our hands at DIYing, the handier we become.

Maybe you’re a DIY wannabe.  Or maybe you’re really good with your hands but you want to try a project in an area where you have absolutely no experience.  For several years, I enjoyed woodworking.  The only thing, I wasn’t very sure of myself when it came to painting or finishing a project with stain and sealer.  I could paint walls and trim out a room with the best of them.  But, when it came to my projects… I lacked experience, was a little afraid I’d mess up the very thing I spent hours working on, and there were no experts in my sphere.

It doesn’t matter the level of your expertise, we all need resources to either get us started or to perfect our craft.  Wherever you are on the spectrum… DIY help is on the way!

What’s your story?  Maybe you like decorating, or creating gifts, or photography.  There’s a huge world of crafting opportunity out there, and like me, you’ve probably only scratched the surface!

How do you decide which project to dive into next?  And how do you do it inexpensively? The costs can quickly mount when it comes to buying more resources, more books, more patterns.

What if you had a wide variety of inspiring resources right at your fingertips, but for a tiny fraction of what you would usually spend?

That why I’m excited to share with you The Ultimate DIY Bundle! It’s your instant go-to library for a whole range of carefully curated DIY and crafting eBooks and eCourses. There are projects for the whole family to get involved in – from pet photography and home decor to chalk pastels and sewing.
