31 Extraordinary Days to Be... AnExtraordinaryDay.net

In my reading early this week I came across this verse….

Free Printable :: Psalm 97:11 :: Light-seed are planted in the souls of God's people, Joy-seeds are planted in good heart-soil.

This image is available as a FREE 5×7 printable.  Download it here.

Light-seeds are planted in the souls of God’s people,
Joy-seeds are planted in good heart-soil.
Psalm 97:11  The Message

I love the idea of God planting light seeds in our souls.

If we water and nurture those seeds so they grow…we’ll be lights in the darkness of the world.

Just think of what a little light does.   And to think God doesn’t plant a single seed…he plants multiple seeds.  Wow!

He doesn’t stop there!

God plants joy-seeds, too.

Did you notice where he plants the joy-seeds?  Good heart soil.

Day 27 Challenge:  The soil of our hearts can be soft and damp and warm…perfect for seed germination.  Or it can be cold and dry and hard.  What is the condition of the soil of your heart?  Are you open to God and his leadership?  Are you willing to tend the seeds and keep them free from the competition of weeds?  Are you sprouting joy?

    * slipping into those Levis that I haven’t been able to wear for 4 years
    * getting to bear weight again
    * the surprise adventure to see the changing leaves
    * being able to sit facing forward in the car
    * the phone calls from the Bug SIMPLY cuz she knows how to tell the phone to dial me LOL
    * coming up with creative solutions so I can share in some responsibilities
    * the wee witchy hats someone made and sent on to me as a surprise

I’d say I’m MOST times open to G-d leading me. Sometimes I’m just a stubborn child and want to do things my way, NOW. But I do think I do a pretty good job of helping others–and helping others find some joy in the moment. I think that’s a huge bit of ME that G-d uses very well…..so kudo’s to Him. LOLOL
Blessings to you…..and yours. And I’m glad the trip to visit family went swimmingly!

  3. Linda says

Thank you Diane. God used your words today to help me. Today my heart is cold and hard. I have been rejected and hurt. I let that hurt produce the weeds of anger and spite. You have given me a passage and thought to start to work through the weeds. Thank you.

    • Diane says

I praise God, Linda, that he used this post to touch you.

  5. Carolyn says

Hi, Dear Diane! I just learned at church recently the name of the grass pictured in your photo. “Maidengrass”! Isn’t that a lovely name for a lovely plant. So I’ve been noticing it all around town and, would you believe, it grows up to the roof line in some people’s yards! Must be some very good soil there!
Thanks for your thoughts on joy seeds. I believe joy is contagious. At least I sure hope that it is! God has planted joy deep down in my heart-soil & I am sooo grateful. Mom named me “Carolyn” which in some sources means “song of joy” so I really do try to live up to that.
Joy is our heritage as born-again children of God. Jesus paid a high price for us to have it & we need to guard the joy that is ours, for the enemy of our souls knows just what an important weapon it is & he’s always out to try & steal it.
Joy is our birthright! Thanks again for bringing this theme to our attention. Blessings on you, Diane!

    • Diane says

Carolyn….I have never thought about it as a birthright. Wow!!
I had learned that it is a Maidenhair fern. Whatever it is…is certainly is delicate and lovely. 🙂
Thank you for your thoughts on joy as well. You have some amazing insight, dear friend. Thanks for sharing….I really appreciate it. [hugs]
