Are you one of those amazing people with your tree decorated and all your presents wrapped the first week of December?

Or maybe you haven’t even begun hanging wreaths or stringing lights.

Whichever camp you’re in….there is still plenty of time to make a few whimsical paperback book Christmas trees.

They are really popular this year, too.

Make Paperback Christmas Trees :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

How do I know this?

This post from last year is currently my number one, most viewed post, hands down.

The good thing….I wrote a simple and easy to follow tutorial for creating your own amazing paperback book Christmas trees for you to “pin” until you gather your supplies.  Which makes this a great craft.  No supplies are needed besides an old paperback book!

If you’ve ever thought about trying your hand at these…do it now.

You might even make some for gifts.  Last year we made at least twenty.

And the best part is that they cost next to nothing and they are handmade.  That’s a win win!

Pop on over to the tutorial and start making your own forest of Christmas trees.

The Week at a Glance 12/7 :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

It was an Extraordinary week here on the blog.

Here’s a rundown of  this week’s posts…

  1. Catch up on all that’s Extraordinary ::  The Week at a Glance 11/29   ~ A recap of the week’s posts.
  2. Light the Candle of Hope :: Joy Day!  ~ On this first Sunday of Advent we light the candle of hope and rejoice in our HOPE…Jesus.
  3. My Favorite Christmas Book :: Letters From Father Christmas  ~ We have a stack of Christmas books we put out each year.  I couldn’t resist telling you about my favorite Christmas book.
  4. Not Your Typical DIY Advent Candle Wreath  ~ It all started with a blogger Dollar Tree Challenge.

Humbled and blessed.

What a lovely blessing to have a  few of my posts included in the features from the weekly link-ups at these sites where I “party”:  Oh My! Creative    ~    52 Mantels

My Christmas Sweater Stocking was featured with some pretty prestigious company here: Top Inspired

Please be sure to pop over to these extraordinary spots!!

On a Personal Note

Some weeks are pretty ordinary….even for a girl who attempts to live an Extraordinary life.  I have enjoyed blessing my friend by doing a few extra things like putting up and decorating her Christmas tree and working with her on a few other festive arrangements.  If the sun ever shines again, I’ll try to do a photoshoot and share a few things in an upcoming post.

So tell me…what good things have made your week?

Wishing you an Extraordinary weekend!

Diane

Heavy fog and sunrises at the dam……talk about peaceful moments in my vehicle, just being. Bit cold to be doing some quiet moments out of the car. We’re talking -8 with the wind. Sitting in a cozy car is the better part of wisdom! 😉

And I love those little trees on their cute stands. Easy to see how that became the most referred to post.
Enjoy that weekend. And for the record, I find it hard to believe that you decorating anything…..is ordinary. JUST sayin’……. 😉

    • Diane says

Oh Mel…except for the cold…it sounds magical. How it must fill your heart and senses.

Awww….thanks for your kind words about the trees and my decorating. You are the best!! [hugs]

  2. Debby says

What a blessing to see the Tolkien book mentioned on your blog this week!! I’ve been looking for a Christmas book that I saw on Amazon recently, but mistakenly thought it was one by C.S. Lewis. It was a “God Thing” to read your blog and get pointed in the right direction. My husband has been battling cancer for 2 1/2 years so he’s requested we not buy him a lot of “stuff” this year. Since he just finished reading the biographies of both C.S. Lewis and Tolkien, this book will be a great gift for him! Thank you for mentioning it on your blog, which by the way, I love!! Your paperback book trees already inspired me this week to head to the library today to see what the “free” pile has. Have a blessed AND extraordinary day!

    • Diane says

I love how God directs our paths. 🙂
Thanks for all your kind words, Debby.
May your husband receive healing and may your Christmas be extraordinarily blessed. [hugs]

Seeing these trees made of books brought back many fond memories for me. I am now 58, but when I was in second grade our teacher taught us how to make Christmas items from things that our parents sent in to the classroom. Tissue paper wreaths, wreaths made fom glass ornaments, (plastic was just getting affordable), and trees made from the Reader’s Digest. They looked just like these, minus the stands. My brother and I loved making them so much we made as many as we could and sold them door to door in our neighborhood. I have not thought about them in many years. I forwarded this blog to my 84 year old mother who laughed at the memory! Thank you so much.

    • Diane says

Marlene….I love reading your story!! What a great memory for you and your brother.
      Thanks for sharing it!

      Hope your week is Extraordinary!

  30. Well, I just love your paperback trees. I have bookmarked this tutorial for next year! Thank you for sharing at TTF. I hope you and your family have a wonderful and blessed Christmas!

  31. These are so cute! When I was a kid, we used to make paper Christmas trees by folding the pages, one at a time inwards to make a triangle, then we’d fold the book backwards and attach it to itself like it was a pyramid. Then we’d spray paint it green and decorate it. It was so tedious as a kid, folding each page!!

    • Diane says

Misty, I think these are a lot like your childhood trees. 🙂 But as adults, they go a lot lot faster. 😉
      Merry Christmas!

  32. These are great! I love that the pages are standing up instead of flat-so creative! Thank you so much for linking up to Get Your DIY On! I hope you’ll join us today with your “all-star” projects!!
