Kitchen Cabinet Organizer Ideas   It has been said that necessity is the mother of invention.  Out of desperation, I created some cute kitchen cabinet organizers for almost free using common items from around the house.     Chaos may seem like a strong word to describe my kitchen cabinets. You know the feeling.  You're cooking dinner and need one more herb or spice and before you know it, you've pulled out half of the little bottles looking for the RIGHT one!  The counter is covered in seasoning containers while you hurry … [Read more...]

Inspiration to set a pretty but simple moss green St. Patrick's Day table and thoughts on why I enjoy celebrating this Irish holiday.     Do you love to rearrange your furniture with the seasons or on a whim?  I have many friends who do that, but that's not my style.  I work hard to find a permanent furniture placement and instead of changing up my room arrangements I change up my decor with the seasons.  If you've been hanging around here for any time, I'm sure you've noticed my love for seasonal home decor... especially on the table.     One of my favorite … [Read more...]

If you'd like to celebrate someone with a special gift but have no idea what to do... I've got a creative and thoughtful gift option for you.     Every Tuesday we get together with some other couples for spiritual discussion and prayer.  We enjoy the time so much, it's the highlight of our week. The daughter of one of the couples graduated from high school this spring.  She didn't want an open house, but we wanted to do something to celebrate her milestone.  Tim thought we should get some flowers. Flowers are nice... but they don't have any staying power much beyond a week. … [Read more...]

Happy Fourth of July!     I LOVE everything about celebrating the 4th, but especially I love all things red, white, and blue. It's been a while since I've been able to set a patriotic table, but this year is finally my year... thanks to an unexpected clearance at Walmart way back in January.  Right smack in the middle of the main aisle was a display of deeply discounted housewares items.  Since I always prefer shopping anything house related over clothing, I was immediately drawn to the display.  Down on the bottom shelf, I noticed a stack of red plates.  Cute red plates with a … [Read more...]

Hello, friends!  Thanks for coming by!   Have you ever had one of those days? My day challenged me on several levels.  Maybe because I'm the queen of self-doubt.  How about you?  Do you second guess yourself, too? I came across this quote from Benjamin Spock, the famed parenting/baby doctor: Trust yourself. You know more than you think you do.  This sage advice was aimed at parents who thought they didn't know anything about parenting.  Yet, it's pretty good advice for most of us. It's easy to think someone else will know more or might have more experience when really, you already are … [Read more...]
