Ever have a day in which you need something, some word, to hang on to?

#Scripture #Psalms :: God is waiting to rescue you :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

“…I am God, your God.

When you are in trouble, call for Me.
I will come and rescue you,
and you will honor Me.”

Psalm 50:7b & 15 from The Voice

Just in case we have any doubt.  God settles who he is in this psalm.

And then if that isn’t enough…he let’s us know that he cares and he’s here for us.

I don’t know about you, but that’s a great reminder to me.

But, even more than just being here….

When we call for him…he comes.

And not only does he come…he rescues us.

Whatever it is that seems too big, too difficult, or any other too....

Rest in knowing he’s there and he’ll come to rescue you when you call.

Of course we would honor him.  Not only for what he does for us…

But, because he is worthy.

Oh…and because above all….HE IS GOD.

What a wonderful blessing of family, LuAnn! I rejoice with you in God’s wonderful blessing!!
May your new week overflow with JOY!!

  2. Kathy says

Great article. I’m grateful for a roof over my head, food to eat, and my health. I’m also grateful for the cooler nights we’ve had (I was without a AC for two days).

    • Diane says

It’s these ‘everyday’ things for which you gave thanks, Kathy, that are often taken for granted.
Yay! for cooler nights. Even here in Michigan, it makes for good sleeping weather.
      Blessings!!

  3. Diane, so thankful for this post on how God rescues us. I am in such a deep heart wrenching abyss of grief over the loss of my granddaughter, Delainey. I want to cry 24 hours. I finally admitted to my husband that I don’t know what to do. Then, prayer-like in my head, I said again, I don’t know what to do. God heard me and used your post today to remind me He is here for me, to rescue me from my grief. I can’t name them individually right now, but all my thankfulness to God is for His Word and for all those sharing that Word with me today! Love you, Diane.

      A sad week. Sad days.
      I can tell Jesus
Jesus loves me, broken, full of tears, not able to explain
      God knows my heart
God gave my daughter and husband safe travels all night Friday after tragic sad news and the need to travel to family
      Gud ar altid
Sun and wind and clouds yet all are weather
      Zinnias bloom
Hummingbirds feast off a trumpet honeysuckle plant in its perfect spot

      • Diane says

Dear sweet Gwen. I am so sorry for you. Your comments earlier in the week were so upbeat and expectant, how difficult this must be. I will be praying for you and your family. May the God of all comfort hold you close.
        [hugs]
        ~Diane

God’s timing and ways are amazing, Sue!
Thank you for letting me know that he used this to encourage your heart.
What a great God! Oh how he loves YOU (and me)! 🙂
I’m praying for you right now.
      {{hugs}}

  4. Mel says

I come here and read ……. and I find myself getting humbled and finding my ‘size’ ……again. My heart hurts for Gwen and Susan–I send prayers of healing for them both.

In my humbled state, I can hear “my child is angry–and that’s ‘okay’….”
I can be such a schmuck and a whiner–and it doesn’t change anything about the love G-d has for me. That’s more than ‘kinda cool’.
    That being said….
    I’m thankful for:
    * those who continue to care for me and care about me (even while I make that rather difficult some days)
    * the phenomenal sunrises and moonrises….it’s been extraordinary
    * the opportunity to heal this second time around
    * the company of himself……who really IS quite entertaining LOL
    * not being judged on how ‘perfectly’ I do this deal (yeahyeah….I can make as many mistakes and find humility as many times as I want! LOL)
    * the goodness in others–it’s really there
    * this desktop computer……it connects me while I’m separated and confined to heal.

    G-d is good!
*hugs* (still praying and hoping, ma’am!!)

    • Diane says

Oh Mel….I know exactly what you mean. We do find our ‘size’ as we discover our difficulties are less than we think and our blessings even greater. It seems that I need the perspective ‘glasses’ on my face every day.
Thank you for praying for others in ‘our’ community. 🙂
Yes…God is good. We use that expression…and yet…somehow it’s the best word. It feels safe, and comfortable, and loved, and held.
He is richly and lavishly loving on you these days. And I love that you are receiving it…mostly [wink].
Thanks for those prayers…and thank you for your friendship.
      [hugs]
