It was another Extraordinary Week on the blog!

Our week together began with Joy Day!  a post where I discussed “waiting on the Lord” and what to do while we wait, and some photos of Alliums that I am totally in love with.   I popped back on Sunday evening with a super easy patriotic wreath idea and the fabulous Monday Funday Link Party.  Have you linked up your posts?  It’s great party and does generate extra traffic, plus it’s a trove of inspirational ideas.  Monday was Memorial Day and we took time to remember the personal sacrifices for our freedom.  Polka-dots.  Did I ever tell you how much I love polka-dots?  So much so I created a polka-dotted tablescape.  Plus I shared some thoughts on hospitality.  Then I pretty much emptied my pantry and put together a yummy breakfast treat with what was left with a box mix I tweaked.  This was a first time thing for me and it was fun to do.  The week wrapped up with, what was for me, a fun walk through one of my Pinterest boards.      What surprised me was that you all responded so delightfully to this bit of frivolity.  Thanks…I needed that. 🙂

Humbled and blessed.

In one of my past lives I was involved in a breakfast networking club.  It seems that my penchant for sharing and sneezing continues with blogging as I enjoy visiting link parties all over this beautiful thing we call the web.  It amazes and blesses me when some of these lovely hosts choose to feature An Extraordinary Day in their week’s wrap up.  I am so grateful for the recognition at these wonderful places this past week:

Imparting Grace    ~    Savvy Southern Style    ~ Carolyn’s Homework

Clean & Scentsible    ~    Adorned From Above

Tatertots & Jello    ~    My Repurposed Life

Please take a minute to stop by these extraordinary blogs for even more inspiration.

On a personal note.  The artwork for today was created for me.  Yes, I photographed the pink dogwoods at a little park around the corner from my house on a super windy day, tweaked the photo, and added the text.  But, yesterday was a personally challenging day and while I was on Pinterest I came across something that I thought I would share with you today.  I didn’t feel like I had it in me to create anything.  But, when I went to pick it up….I discovered that it was no longer available at the site of origin.  As long as I was there I did a little clicking and came across another version of the verse above.   It gave me enough strength to create.  God’s Word is powerful.  I will be meditating on this verse today….especially, don’t be afraid.  And so this was created to imprint God’s promises on my mind.  Maybe you will find it helpful, too.

And one more thing.  Celebrate with me a banner week on the blog.  For a seven-day stretch I have had steady high traffic with one day the most ever by several hundred page views and the most subscriptions.  For that I am grateful.

You all bless me immensely.  To those of you who pray….I am humbled.   My hope is that you, too, are blessed.

Wishing you an Extraordinary weekend!

Diane

Your blog is so uplifting…..and your pictures are breathtakingly beautiful. You should think about selling them! I saw a gal at a craft fair one time, who took pictures and framed some and make note cards out of them too! With the bible verses on them, I would think lots of people would love to have them to hang in their home! Sorry, didn’t mean to get on a soapbox, there! Really what I was going to tell you was how your black and white polka dot table has stayed with me all week! I WILL be getting some clear plates! Thanks for ALL your do…..it’s probably a lot more than you know. May God bless you. Dona

Oh Dona….you just made my heart glad. Thank you for your kind and encouraging words.
That it too fun that you’ve have polka dots on your mind!! I am so excited for you to have fun with setting a table in a similar fashion. You’ll have to email me a photo of it. [hugs] my friend. 😉

  2. What a beautiful variety of posts you have here. You truly honor the Lord with the gifts of your heart that you share. I am blessed to be back for a visit this weekend. Linking next to you at Barbie’s. Have another fabulous week! Love, Rachael @ Inking the Heart

Rachael, you do have the gift of encouragement. 😉 Thank you for taking the time to pop over.
May your weekend overflow with JOY!

  3. Your photos are beautiful and your heart for the Lord always evident here. Thank you for your faithful encouragement!

Amazing photo–simply gorgeous. And the passage is awesome. I’m going to need to hang on to the ‘don’t be afraid or terrified’ bit. Fear does strange things to me–or is it me that does strange things when fear enters? Probably the latter, huh?
WOW–congratulations on the busy week! You’ve got a whole lot going on in all sorts of places–I don’t know how you do it. Seriously. But I’m grateful you do, cuz I’m one who leaves this pretty place and has a shift of heart. (trust me..LOL….that’s a very good thing!)
I’ve got clear plates on the ‘to purchase’ list next time I’m out and about. I’m not sure I can rely on he-who-does-the-shopping to know what I’m talking about. I can show him yours, but sure as heck he’ll be looking for ones with polka dots. LOL Gotta love him! 😉
Many, many blessings to you and yours!

    • Diane says

Oh….don’t I know that fear thing, too! Gotta keep trusting and not giving in to it. Always. 😉
If this place blesses you and encourages your heart….than I have been blessed in return.
You are too funny…”he’ll be looking for the ones with polka dots.”
Hope your day has been lovely in every way. [hugs]

  5. I love this way of sharing. I have thought about doing that as well but not sure if the timing is right yet. I am still working with this self-hosted blog and fighting my way through.
    Beautiful words and picture.
    Blessings,

I’m not sure what you mean by “I love this way of sharing.”
I hear you on ‘working’ with the blog…ugh. I so appreciate people who ‘get’ the technical details and run with it so easily.
Thanks for your kind word, Janis.
May your day be filled with JOY!
