Can you think of cleaning products in your kitchen that you can’t live without?

For me, I like chlorine free dishwasher detergent, absorbent dish towels, a natural and pleasant smelling dish soap, and a small pot scraper.  These products may change based on their availability and my budget.

But, I don’t equivocate when it comes to these two things:  Dobie Cleaning Pads and Bon Ami Powder Cleanser .  They are in constant use in my kitchen.  Honestly, I prefer these brands over other nylon scrubbies and powdered cleaners.

Kitchen Favorites :: Bon Ami & Dobie :: AnExtrordinaryDay

A question I hear from my Longaberger customers is: “How do I clean the baked-on residue from my Baking Dishes.”  My answer is always Bon Ami.  Usually what I hear is on beautifully Longaberger Pottery cleans up.  But, if it isn’t well cleaned, as with anything else, those cooking oils get baked on time and time again.  When that happens, I suggest a damp dish cloth and a sprinkle of Bon Ami.  If there is still residue in the corners of the weaves I dampen the surface, sprinkle the Bon Ami, and get out a toothpick and use the toothpick as my scrub brush.  It works really well.  All my pottery looks brand new.

We use stainless steel cookware and if the flame is too high it’s easy to get stuff stuck.  To clean the inside and the copper outsides, I my Dobie Cleaning Pads. And if need a little ‘power’ I sprinkle on some Bon Ami Cleanser.  We love Dobie for cleaning all over the kitchen, and the bathroom, and the car (Different pads are used, of course!).  We have used these our entire married life and I love that most everything in my kitchen looks like brand new.

When I lived in Michigan, our home was painted with Benjamin Moore’s eggshell wall paint.  Whenever there was a mar on the wall, I got out my favorite cleaning duo and took care of the offender in a flash.  When we moved 14 years after the house was built, the new owners thought we had repainted.  I think that says a lot for the Bon Ami Powder Cleanser and the Dobie Cleaning Pads.  Since, I have moved to homes that were not painted with such quality paint and I can scrub the paint right off the wall.  So…if you want to try this…try it first in an inconspicuous area.

So there you have it…two of my kitchen favorites.  These are my unsolicited opinions.  No one is paying me for these thoughts.  Hope you find them helpful and maybe make this duo your new favorites too.

*laughing* Here we go again! Links galore–and loads of cute ideas. Where DO they come up with this stuff. I’m still trying to organize the ‘fairy garden’ idea from last week. Darn good thing I can come back and browse! LOL I’m loving the coconut kiwi strawberry everything fruit frozen popcicle. Bettin’ that one’s gluten free! 😉

And I don’t even wanna bring out my baking pans. LOL Maybe some of the bon ami and elbow grease. We are messy cooks! 😉

Oh I do hope you get your fairy garden put together. I have dreamed of doing one of those for a long time. Will you post a photo on your blog? I hope so. I’m also looking forward to seeing those lovely patio pots. 😉 And that coconut kiwi popcicle…it does look amazing!!
Hope your day has been blessed. 🙂
