Are you a chocolate lover?

There’s a saying I’ve seen floating around the internet for quite some time…

Chocolate makes everything better.

Today I’m here to tell you that chocolate hot fudge sauce makes everything better.

Okay, maybe not everything.

I gave up on hot fudge sauce... it just never lived up to my standards, until now. This is the best ever chocolate hot fudge sauce you have ever smothered over your favorite dessert. And because today is your lucky day... I'm sharing this amazing, but easy recipe with you!

But surely, it’s the finishing touch to a brownie and ice cream sundae.

I have to tell you, I’m a recent convert to hot fudge sauce.

Recently my friend made it for my husband’s birthday.  And as you might have guessed…I was skeptical.

Why?  Because I was always disappointed whenever I ordered a dessert anywhere topped with hot fudge sauce.  So much so, that I started asking for chocolate syrup instead.

If I ordered chocolate syrup, I knew I would get a chocolaty topping.  If I ordered hot fudge sauce… I wasn’t sure what I was getting.  Usually it was some thick grainy stuff with a nod to chocolate.

I LOVE chocolate and I want to taste its rich deep flavor in anything that’s supposed to be chocolate.

So, when Ann said this was the best hot fudge ever… yes, I was doubtful.

Boy, did she prove me wrong.  It was so good I asked for the recipe.

It really was the best ever chocolate hot fudge sauce!  I could not get enough.

Yummy brownie sundae topped with the best ever chocolate hot fudge sauce.

She made a double recipe, so there was plenty left over from the birthday dinner.  Several days later I decided to make brownies, which I made into brownie sundaes.

The hot fudge sauce was easily reheated in the microwave and I smothered the brownie sundaes with its rich chocolaty goodness.

And then, decided I should take a photo for you.  It was truly a last-minute kind of thing.

Anything this good is not made or eaten every day. I needed to seize the moment.

I had no idea when I might make it again, so… at 8 o’clock at night, I did my best to take a photo for you.  I hope you can imagine the aroma and deliciousness of this wonderful rich, dark chocolate hot fudge sauce.

Are you drooling?  If not now, once you’ve tasted it you will be.

Oh…I suppose you want the recipe, too. 😉

Jann, after I gave up on hot fudge, it was hot caramel… especially over chocolate ice cream… until now!

  9. I love chocolate period. I’m actually a fan of hot fudge sauce over chocolate syrup because I find chocolate syrup too thin and not the chocolate taste I like…go figure lol! My mom’s recipe for hot fudge sauce has long been a treasured favorite around here. This recipe sounds divine. I’m going to have to try it. Perfect for Valentines Day! Thank you for sharing it and all your beautiful Valentines Day ideas at What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a great week!
    Blessings, Deborah

    • Diane says

That is funny, Deborah! I think you’ll like this sauce… but I’d love to hear how it compares with your mom’s recipe. I might need to try her’s too. 😉
Hope you have a great weekend ahead… we’re going to be a few degrees above freezing. Yay! I know it won’t last long, but I’m grateful regardless.:) [hugs]

  10. Glenda Kremer says

hot fudge great but hoping for our small group I could just take brownies, ice cream and a jar of the syrup–not hot–that would work right? I know they will love it! and I hope to make some hearts for Allen for Valentine’s day–at church Sat. night we have a catered dinner and dance for Valentines!

    thanks for all you share
    love you Diane!
    glenda

    • Diane says

      Glenda… if there’s a microwave you’ll want to warm it up as it will get very firm. 😉 Chunks of fudge… not so good. ;
I love how you still do special things for your hubby for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy the day, you two love birds!! 😉

  11. Looks delicious! We’ve featured you on A little bird told me link party, hope you’ll stop by and link up again this week!

  13. This really does look yummy, Diane, and considerably easier than my current hot fudge sauce recipe. I’m pinning this for future reference! 🙂

Thanks so much for joining Grace at Home. I’m featuring you this week!

  14. I hate it when they put Hershey’s on it! I have one just like this but with cream and granulated sugar! I love the convenience of evaporated milk! When we make it, people scrape it off their plates!

    • Diane says

I think you’ll also like the consistency of the sauce with the powdered sugar. Let me know how it compares with those slight variations, Jacqueline.
      Thanks for stopping by!
      Happy Valentine’s Day!
