With St. Patrick’s Day just around the corner I wanted to inspire you to create some mason jar happiness to dress up your little corner of the world.  And throw in a few riddles… just for fun!

Spread St. Patrick's Day Mason Jar Happiness with Flowers and Fun

What do you get when you cross poison ivy with a four-leaf clover?
A rash of good luck.

Last year I received some lovely green Ball mason jars for a Mother’s Day blog hop.  I also received blue, and purple, and clear jars, and never got around to doing anything with the green jars.  I knew I wanted to use them for St. Patrick’s Day.

My plan wasn’t to do anything complicated. I simply wanted to use them to make some small floral arrangements.

I was thinking that I might use this floral arranging hack to arrange the flowers. But, I also was thinking that I could get some chicken wire and cut it to fit the top of the opening.  That would be pretty cute. Or, maybe I would find the Ball lids that have a wire mesh (affiliate link) to insert in the lid.

While I was out shopping at TJay for something entirely different, I came across these clear jars in a wire holder that already had wire mesh in the lids.  And… the price was just under $7.  What a deal!  (I later discovered the same item at the HobLob.)

It was perfect!  All I needed to do was to switch out the clear jars for my green Ball mason jars. Voila!

Do you know why you shouldn’t iron a 4-leaf clover?
You don’t want to press your luck.

Do you remember the St. Patrick’s Day shamrock and gold basket I recently shared with you?  I borrowed one of the shamrocks from the basket to dress up this lovely, but rather plain wire jar holder.

The wire on the pick was pretty stiff, but I carefully bent it at the bottom and secured it to the wire basket.  Hopefully you can get an idea how I did it in these images above.

It was one small but simple addition that really helped make the mason jars dance a little St. Patrick’s Day jig.

Take a quick look at your stash.  What do you have to repurpose? And then while you’re out today pick up some fresh flowers… I saw a bunch of white mini-carns for just $4.87 at Walmart.  Take a few moments to splash a little green and white and gold around to make your St. Patrick’s Day pretty and fun.

Why can’t you borrow money from a leprechaun?
Because they’re always a little short.

I realized I have this in three. But I put it under a large photo framed of my daughter and spouse in front of a castle in hmmm Scotland. I could trade and put something else in that spot and trade out jars!! Glad you wrote back. Cute post?
