New Year's Quote and Printable for 2014 :: The Object of a New Year :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

“The object of a new year is not that we should have a new year,
but rather that we should have a new soul.”
G.K. Chesterton

Do you make New Year’s Resolutions?

Whether the resolution is to be more organized, get healthy, read more books, or run a marathon….as significant as all of those are….the resolution to restore our souls is the more lasting resolution.

What do you resolve to do in 2014?

The photo quote above by Chesterton is available as a Free 5×7 Printable.  Download the New Year’s Quote and Printable for 2014 here.  Save it to your desktop to print out at home or take to your favorite photo printer.

I’ve been learning to use a borrowed DSLR camera and on a subzero morning went outside and snapped a few photos.  This one shows the hoary frost on the dogwoods’ branches.  The photo has not been color edited.  I have no idea what the settings were that brought about this lovely coloration.  Isn’t it great?

May your New Year be blessed beyond imagination.

Diane

Love the picture and quote. You’re “right on” about restoring our souls. This is so much more important than any other resolution for the new year. Thank you for sharing what God has laid on your heart. Blessings . And hugs from Indiana Duneland.

  2. Amen! I’ve chosen the “one word” path this year instead of making resolutions. I’ll still make goals, though; plenty of those! BTW, the word I chose for the year is “order”.

  3. Love this! Thank you!

Nope, no ‘NY resolution’–I’m a gal that does the constant introspect and tweaking of what needs tweaked. I keep thinking I oughta be the picture of perfection by now. LOL NOTsomuch. I’ll keep at it though.

The photo is awesome–the colours are delightful. DSLR, eh? Wow…. (k….I have no idea what that is, but wow, just the same. LOL)
Happy New Year to you and himself.
