Nature is my medicine - Quote :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

When my world gets turned upside down, I love to go on a nature walk.

This quote by Sara Moss-Wolfe says it all.

Nature is my medicine.

Maybe you are like me….

Or, maybe another activity feeds your soul.

When you’re weary and worn and need to set things right, what do you do or where do you go?

It was an Extraordinary TWO Weeks on the blog!

Somehow I managed to keep up with the blog over these two incredibly hectic weeks.  But, I feel badly that I missed this week’s Joy Day!   I fully expected to have a post for you, but our packing and loading and storing took a whole day longer than we anticipated, and that meant no internet.   I was blown away with how you all helped me celebrate my birthday with 10 Happy Things at the end of last week.  And this week I reflected on all the ‘moving’ details of the previous week.   Your words of encouragement have uplifted and blessed me more than you will ever know.  Thank you!!

A few weeks ago I asked for some input, and it seemed that everyone wanted me to continue my coastal/beachy posts which I had photographed, but not yet written.  It will be our end of the summer hurrah.  With all the beautiful weather, it seems appropriate.  And if you are inspired….you’ll just have to pin the posts to remember next summer. [wink]

Since this week has been too much about me….
I want to hear what’s happening in your world.
It’s time for you to spill it all!!

Wishing you an Extraordinary weekend!

  1. Your positive spirit is so invigorating. I just discovered your website recently and am a big fan. You are so busy right now and yet can take the time to spread joy to all your readers. Love your quote today about nature. We all need to get out more and enjoy the season. Soon winter will be keeping us I here in western pennsylvania. Enjoy your day. Peg

You just put a big smile on my face Peggy! Thank you for your kind words!
Hope today is gorgeous and you’re able to enjoy it!
Best wishes for an Extraordinary weekend!

  2. It’s so easy to see God in nature. Have a beautiful weekend.

Maybe it’s because we spend so much time around “human creation” and when we get into HIS world His peace comes. Thanks, Barbie!
May your weekend worship be amazing!

  3. Beautiful photos, Diane. Yes, God created a beautiful earth for us to enjoy and rejuvenate our souls. I think it brings us closer to Him, maybe that’s why it calms us so. Blogging or journaling helps us too. Being thankful in everything, every circumstance being content. Resting in Him. Letting the Holy Spirit guide us and His Word feed our souls. I came across this verse last week, which I’m sure I’ve read before but it popped out at me.

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

Maybe it doesn’t relate to “medicine” for a weary soul. But, it gives us “action of faith”. I hope it blesses you and your husband.

    Hugs,
    Sue

      Yes! Yes! Yes!
“Action faith.” Love that! Such a great verse. And really where we need to camp. Yes?
I’m pretty certain that our time in nature restores us because there we find more of Him and less of us.
You are always a blessing, Sue!
      May your weekend be Extraordinary!

  4. Gwen says

The grapes are harvested, the almonds shaken from the trees, and soon cotton dust will also fill the air. For our county, corn has been cut and harvested for dairies, apples will soon be picked in our mountain town, pistachios are soon ready to be picked, and the Rosé fields look glorious! Most of the rosé stock for all grafting is grown in my county. The fields are so pretty! Almond trees being shaken means dirt!!! Grape picking means boxes stacked at the ends of rows, tarps set up, and crews out at daylight to pick the table grapes for our country to enjoy! Huge grape harvesters also pick the grapes and many are used for wine. Tomatoes have been picked and huge plants process this major crop. Even baby’s breath in pinks are hand picked and tied in bundles to dry. The citrus crop will be picked around Christmas. And soon the sheep will come down off the mountains to live on the valley floor and as Christmas approaches, we see the shepherd’s hut, and watch the lambs frolic and think of that special starry night when other shepherds were told of our Savior’s birth.
Throw in a huge oil industry with oil wells and pipes all over and that’s our sights mixed in with tons of trees, a dry river bed, emptied for AG canals, and yes, very dirty air, but flowers grow, potatoes, gardens, and so its a desert made pretty by irrigation from snow pack melt!! If our county were a state, it would be one of the top and as a county it ranks no. 1 in oil and AG. But for me? I like the constant sunshine. That’s a glimpse into my world today!!

    • Diane says

I LOVE the glimpse into your ‘world’ Gwen!! Your words paint great pictures. So many of our favorite foods, taken for granted. And you make it sound so beautiful. 🙂 Even with the dusty, dirty air. Today was overcast with some patchy rain, and after a whole week of sunshine, I truly missed it. Thank you soooo much for sharing what life looks like in your neck of the woods. Or should I say on your mountain hillside. 😉
There’s no doubt Gwen…you ARE extraordinary!!!
