Whether you need a smile….

Or permission to indulge in a tiny cake piled high with frosting…

It’s good to know:

Muffins are Healthy quote :: 5x7 Printable :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Wasn’t that fun?

I saw this quote on Facebook this week

Once you lick the frosting off a cupcake it becomes a muffin.
And muffins are healthy.
You’re welcome!

and couldn’t resist creating a 5×7 printable for you.  All you need to do is right click on the image and choose save as, and you can save it to your desktop and you’ll be able to print it or have your favorite photo shop print it for you.

Everyone seems to love cupcakes!  So the next time you serve cupcakes, print this off, place it in a frame, and set it near your cupcakes.  I’m pretty sure that everyone will not only get a huge kick out of it…but your cupcakes will quickly disappear.

Now for the spoiler….

Unless we make our muffins with high quality organic and natural unrefined ingredients and coconut oil, they aren’t any healthier than a cupcake with the frosting.   Please don’t throw darts.  [wink]

It was another Extraordinary Week on the blog!

Saturday’s weekly wrap up featured an Extraordinary quote.  Sunday began with Joy Day! and a reminder of the good things that God has done as our Provider.  Then on Monday, I shared how I reply to every comment made on the blog, only to discover that you may or may not know that I replied to yours….along with an easy fix, plus some gorgeous photos of Lupines.  The remainder of the week has been about my laundry closet/room.  It’s something I started and never finished and I like to be a finisher….so cheer me on as I try to make this corner a sweet place to sort, wash, dry, fold, and repeat.

Humbled and blessed.

What a blessing it is to have my posts featured at these lovely places:

Please take a minute to stop by these extraordinary blogs for even more inspiration.

On a personal note.

I did it again.  If  you’ve missed seeing me partying around blogland, I took a break.  I haven’t felt like a social butterfly lately.  Instead, I’d much prefer to sit down with you individually over a tall cool beverage and just chat.  I really want to know what you’ve been thinking.

Three days without a phone is a challenge.  Especially since we have no cell phone as a cost saving measure, either.  This week I learned that our land line phone issue was the charger.  Evidently the chargers are the parts that give up…not the handset.  Of course we had to drive 30 miles and spend 20 dollars for a new battery to discover that.  But, in the end, we bought a new discontinued phone for just 10 dollars.  This whole ordeal took three days and three trips and I am certain that for all the talk about living ‘green,’  technology is far from it.

Last Saturday we also learned that our house is going on the market.  The realtor has been through the house, a showing is scheduled for this Saturday morning, and the agency’s agents will tromp through the house on Tuesday morning.  We are doing some things for the owner to spruce things up a bit and Tim is continuing to paint the house in this incredible heat wave.  This has not been an easy project for him considering the volume of rain we got when he started, followed by the high temps.

This week we have one answer in the job process, “We will be candidating another applicant.”  Not the answer we had hoped for.   All while we wait to hear something on the others.  I’m sure you are putting two and two together, and in this case it looks like zero, not four.  If you pray, please pray with us as we trust God to move in a big way.  He is able to do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.  And since I’ve got a pretty good imagination…. [smile]

Now it’s your turn….tell me what you’ve been up to this week.

Wishing Extraordinary YOU an Extraordinary weekend!

Clicking doesn’t work on the cute cupcake image. I need this when I take refreshments for Sunday School. I had planned on cupcakes so this would be perfect to sit next to them.
Thanks. I enjoy your thoughtful blog.
    Dianne.

      Hi Dianne!
Let’s try this again…I see I wasn’t clear. Thanks for letting me know so I could correct it and make it more understandable. 🙂
Right click on the image, you’ll get a box where you then should select save as. It’s a JPEG file, so you can save it to your desktop or wherever for printing, etc.
Everyone should get a big kick out of that at your Sunday school. How fun…great timing too! 😉
Hope your weekend is blessed beyond imagination.

Thank you. I guess my problem is that I have an iMac and there is no such thing as a right click. You just click. I will send to my husband’s computer and maybe get it there. Thank you again. I appreciate you and your mission work with us folks out here in computer land.

Hmmm….however you usually save a photo from the net is the same way you can save this one. It should work. Please let me know.
          Blessings!

    Dear Diane,

My husband & I have been in ministry for our whole adult lives so I am especially concerned for God to provide just the right place for the two of you to begin again. His timing, though so bewildering to us, is perfect. He is Providence Himself, Jehovah Jirah, the God Who Unerringly provides.

I know that your hearts are attune to His whispers & that you are waiting (actively, in searching, sending out resumes & in prayer). Be encouraged! You are one day closer to the culmination of your prayers! Yes, He heard them, Yes, He is answering them, Yes, He is orchestrating every detail, including moving upon others & motivating them to fit into “The Plan”.

Praying for both of you to keep your eyes upon Him. Look up; you might see a rainbow thro all these storms!

    Fondly,
    –cjw.

PS: What have I been doing this week? Well, playing w/all my seashells, o’ course! The hot summer days don’t seem quite so daunting when I come in & see the lovely seashells gathered from all the places where we have lived/visited during our long missionary career in Latin America. (o; I have them in bowl & deep candlesticks w/a little sand in the bottom & then artfully arranged. So much fun!

Thank you dear sweet Carolyn! Though you know that I know all of that….you also know how much I appreciated ‘hearing’ the truth of my situation reiterated to me. Truly. 🙂 I am grateful for your words of encouragement and your prayers. It means more than you may know during this seemingly long and lonely season. [hugs]
I love that you are ‘playing’ with seashells. I have no doubt that your collection is something to behold and your artful display sounds beautiful. I remember the first time as a child when I put my ear to the conch shell to “hear the ocean.” And though I grew up nearly on Lake Michigan, I thoroughly enjoyed my shell and the refreshment of listening and pretending I was at the ocean. I’m only sorry that I sold my shells on a whim one year at a garage sale as a young adult. I guess they didn’t ‘go’ with my early American home. 😉
Thank you Carolyn for taking the time to lovingly point my eyes to the One who is working out the perfect plan. 🙂

I just read that your house is going on the market and I feel so bad for you. It doesn’t sound like you had much notice either. I also know how difficult the job market is for many people and you are fortunate that you have such a strong faith to sustain you. I always enjoy your lovely posts and sweet vignettes, so I sincerely hope things turn around for you soon. Blessings to you, Diane

    • Diane says

      You are so kind, Diane….
No we didn’t have much notice….it’s all happening really quickly. However…I do trust God’s timing. We cling to the knowledge that he knew all this and will work things out for our good. And I absolutely must keep that in mind at all times.
It blesses me to know that you are enjoying An Extraordinary Day. 🙂 Thanks for taking the time to leave your words of encouragement, Diane.
      May your weekend be Extraordinary!!

  4. Mel says

Oh, bless his heart for persevering through the rain and the heat and the humidity to paint the house–what a bit of trial and tribulation that has been. And I’ll keep praying–no point in stopping five minutes before the miracle, right?
And the answer is to spruce it up to help the owner. *sigh* I don’t know if I could be so gracious. I just don’t. I’d like to THINK I would be……..but dunno… I mighta had one of ‘those’ moments when I looked to the heavens and done the “Really?…REALLY?!” *sigh* I seem to have ‘those’ moments more lately. Not a good thing, really…..but it’s where I am and I won’t move from there if I don’t acknowledge I’m ‘there’, yaknow?

I soooooooooooooo want a cupcake. LOL And I don’t CARE that it’s chalked full of calories and ‘stuff’. I’ll momentarily FEEL better. 😉
Fine. FINE! I’ll have a delicious bowl of gluten free cereal and pretend. LOLOL
    *hugs*

    • Diane says

“Five minutes before the miracle.” Reminds me that we always find what we’re looking for…in the last place we look. 😉 Thanks for remaining steadfast my friend.
Ha…I have an idea you ‘get’ my mental gymnastics these days. Funny….I’ve been wondering why I have been sooo tired. :-/

Yes….I do know about those moments….we don’t get to where we need to be by wrinkling our noses. [wish, wish] We have to walk the bumpy road and scuff our feet on those protruding stones. :-/
My neighbor had a gorgeous gluten free cupcake the other day….from the frozen section of the grocery. I think she ate two and called it supper. 😀
