But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
Luke 2:19

Just think of all the experiences Mary had leading up to and through the birth of her baby, King Jesus. Somehow Mary recognized the greatness or significance of each experience.  Her heart was full.

Mary Treasured All of These Things :: Luke 2:19 :: Printable :: 12 Days of Christmas :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Neither of us are Mary, but God has allowed us to experience many significant things as well.

  • Which of your experiences do you treasure?
  • Have you pondered the significance of any?
  • The good and the not-so-good?

Christmas is more than the celebration.

Christmas is also about life-change that comes to us through Jesus’ birth, death, and resurrection.  It’s about choosing to receive the gift of life…treasuring the joy and liberty it brings…and pondering its unimaginable cost.

We are one week away from Christmas today.

Where are you in the midst of this holiday?  Are you stressed, anxious, frazzled, joyful, excited, or expectant?

May I encourage you to gaze into the manger.

Consider this love God has for you.  God loved you so much that he sent his son into the world.  To be born into a humble family, in a stable, all because he wants you to know that he is a loving, approachable, trustworthy God.  And, more than anything, he wants you to choose to love him in return.

Why not tell him you love him?  It changes everything.

Love,

Diane

  1. Diane, you are so correct. Telling Jesus we love him does change everything. Enough of us and we could change the world, thru Him.

      Thank you, sweet friend. 🙂
      Wow…could we ever.

May you and yours have the most blessed and JOYous CHRISTmas!

  2. Mel says

Lovely….. It’s a smile thing I often fail to say to Him. Isn’t that odd…considering how often He makes sure *I* get that message.

Sounds like I need a few more moments with Him this morning. *hugs*

    • Diane says

You know Mel…I think it begins as a purposeful practice. And some people are more in touch with their feelings than others…or at least more expressive. Doesn’t this analytical gal know. :-/
      Blessings…
