Is chalkboard art still popular?

Or has it already become yesterday’s news?

Laundry Quote :: Laundry Room Chalkboard Art :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Seriously….I have no idea.  But, sometimes what I was in love with last year needs to stay in last year.

Then again….sometimes I don’t care.  Actually most of the time I don’t care.

If I love it…whatever “it” is….”it” hangs around until I get tired of “it.”

Yeah…pretty much forever. [wink]

Last summer I had a bazillion projects going on at one time.
And while I was supposed to be packing for a move, I finished up my laundry room with more than just this laundry room chalkboard art.

All because, this gal doesn’t like unfinished business.

I had a ton of fun working on that project, so if you missed it, please check it out here.

Speaking of projects….

This weekend I shared some really Extraordinary Inspiration for summer eats and entertaining.

Every Monday we each choose one inspiring link to feature….

My Pick….

Maria Elena transformed an old lamp into a wireless lamp for her patio.
This definitely is on my list.  What a clever idea and it’s stunningly gorgeous too!

Mary Beth’s Pick….

Kristy fell in love with a table from Pottery Barn.  Its price tag was a little steep.
No problem….her husband made a knock-off for her that she simply LOVES!!

Malia’s Pick…

Bev shows us how to make this beautiful Pom Pom Wreath for the Fourth of July.
Isn’t it wonderfully festive?

Stephanie’s Pick…

I think Suzan has been having too much fun creating an outdoor living space.
You won’t believe what she did to make a sweet serving center for outdoor entertaining.

  6. Dianne says

I can not get in the “chalkboard” frame of mind. I was a teacher for 30 years and cleaning a chalkboard was not my favorite thing to do. The chalk made my fingers break out in a rash and hurt. The chalk dust got on everything. A chalkboard in my house would just not make me happy. i did love every minute of teaching, just not those old “blackboards”. Chalkboard projects that I see on all these blogs are beautiful. I admire folks that can use them in such creative ways. But not for me.

    • Diane says

Awww…I never would have guessed that the chalk would have made your hands break out and hurt. Ouch! But, if I think about it…I’m sure chalk would dry out anyone’s fingers from constant use. I’m glad, Dianne, that you can appreciate the art while never, ever wanting to pick up another piece of chalk again! 😉
Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts.
May your new week be filled with extraordinary (chalk-free) moments!
      [hugs]
