Just in case you’re having one of those days….

You know….the kind filled with doubt, or worry, or fear.

Trust in God ::John 14:1 :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

May these words encourage your heart:

Jesus said, “Don’t be troubled. Trust in God, and trust in me.
John 14:1 ERV

We all have days when we let our minds take us places we shouldn’t go.  Speak God’s promises out loud. Start with this verse.   We really can trust the ONE who says, Trust me.

Hope these were just the encouraging words you needed….

Oh yes. The beauty of Gods handiwork and Jesus saying
Let not your hearts be troubled. Ye believe in God then also believe in Me.
And so today, my heart in physical pain and sad, so where does my help come from? My help comes from The Lord. Maker of heaven and earth.

And the absolute best help we can get comes from HIM!!
Prayed for you, Gwen, and your mom this morning.

wow. you may never know how much i needed to read/hear this today! just told my best friend that through a Bible study i am doing i recently became aware of the fact the root of all my problems is fear and not trusting God. i have been asking Him all day to speak to my heart about something that happened early this morning. thank you

p.s. when i said in my last comment that sometimes i found your posts “fluffy” i WASN’T talking about the decorating! i love those posts and that was what drew me to your blog to start with :-). i meant that sometimes the hard things in life need to be acknowleded and there are not pat answers so it was good for me to read the post about believers “playing” church instead of loving others. that many times other believers just quote a scripture to you or tell you God is going to fix everything the way you want Him to. people hurt, loved ones leave through divorce or death, finances are lost…that is life but you can still have hope, you can still have a deep, abiding joy in the midst of life. i almost didn’t comment because i thought it would probably read differently than my intended thoughts but it was a powerfull message and i wanted to validate your feelings because you stated how difficult it was to write and publish it. just wanted to clear that up.

      Hi Suzi!
A few evenings ago I snapped the photo of those yellow flowers…I think they are Jerusalem artichoke, but I’m not sure. As I had been editing photos for an up coming guest post I kept running into this photo and knew that I wanted to share it with an encouraging word today. As I considered different scripture verses, this one seemed perfect for…me. Yes…me. I had a pretty good idea that if I was struggling today, others might be as well. Praise God that it was just what you needed too. 🙂 Isn’t it interesting the methods he uses to minister to our hearts?

Regarding “fluffy” – Ah…thank you so much for clearing that up for me, Suzi. Seriously, I thought the decor was the fluff as it really isn’t the most important thing in life. Oh do I know what you mean by ‘pat’ answers to the hard things in life. I’ve heard more than my share of that too. You know, I think that comes by people who are well-meaning…but often shallow in faith. Then too….it does seem like many churches are walking a shallow faith. And when you aren’t really connected to God that is the result. When you have needed God’s life-line to ‘breathe’ you understand love in a whole new way. It can be taught and modeled though. Enough of my thoughts…thanks for helping me understand where you were coming from….and for letting me you enjoy the decor posts too! Though we can elevate decor and such in an unhealthy way…I believe that the reason we enjoy it is for the same reason God created this very beautiful world of ours.

May your heart find gratitude and JOY in Jesus to overwhelm the fear. [hugs] ~Diane

I need to tattoo this TRUST deal on my forehead….or at the very least, hang sticky notes in visible places. I know it’s a choice….every time, every day.
Why I complicate the simple….. *sigh*

I hear you!!!! And why do you think I created this? Because I needed it too!! 🙂
We can do this together. Yes?
