Happy New Year!

Okay…maybe I’m a wee bit early.  But only 25 hours early!

Remember my Joy Wreath hanging over the sideboard?  I thought it would be fun to quickly and easily transform it into a New Year’s Wreath.

After removing the vintage balls and Joy and other nativity words, I added in some semi-blingy woodland picks I had in my stash.

I borrowed a Silhouette machine which I have yet to master and cut out the Happy – New – Year – 2013 in some gold cardstock I also had in my stash. BUT, you can easily create these by using stencils and tracing them on cardstock and cutting out the numbers.  Or printing letters and numbers on cardstock and cutting out them out.  Super easy.

The only expense was a package of paper coronet horns from Dollar Tree.  The pack contained 2 gold and 1 silver and 3 other assorted colors.  I took some gold/silver mylar “tissue” paper and wrapped two of the colored horns and inserted all five into the pine greens.  It’s that little bit of extra New Year’s bling to tie it all together.

The Happy New Year words are just set on top of the faux greens.  I tried to catch them with the little tendrils of the picks and the needles of the pine.  It’s staying up so it works.  As long as my cat Poppy doesn’t decide that the sideboard is a race track now that I’ve taken down the nativity.

So there you have it.  A super easy New Year’s Wreath.  One you can still do for tonight’s party or tomorrow’s brunch.

I put together this wreath to complete the New Year’s table setting that I will show you in detail tomorrow.  Since I know you can’t wait…I’ll give you just a little glimpse.

Love this! I’ve never thought about decorating for New Years, but that could make it more exciting, especially next year when we may even be entertaining more than just our wee family.

Thanks Jen!! Generally I do a major take down on New Year’s Day but I wanted to change things up this year. And since we have only lived in this area/house for a a little over a year, it’s easy to change tradition. 😀
Wishing you and yours a blessed and joyous New Year!

Ohhhhhh……how pretty is that?! Amazing what just a bit here and there can create when there’s a warm, creative heart involved.
Ya done GOOD! And here’s hoping the kitty doesn’t undo it. 😉

Joyous New Year to you and yours, Diane.
Ring it in with abundant joy!

You and me both Jennifer!! Everyone (who again is everyone?) makes it seem so easy….but for someone who can usually figure things out, I’ve had too many glitches like cutting the plastic mat. Ugh. I think it may be a Silhouette update issue. Double Ugh.

  5. What a cool idea and so pretty! I’m not the best decorator so I don’t bother but I love to see what my sister cooks up for her house 🙂

Hi Diane! The coronet horns from The Dollar Tree you covered with the gold paper are fabulous!! They really add a terrific sparkle to your New Years wreath, which, by the way, is gorgeous!! You always come up with the best ideas!! I might have seen this wonderful post before but as my memory often fails me, I don’t recollect, so I just had the pleasure of enjoying it all over again! The glimpse you gave us of your dinner table setting is tantalizing, so I can’t wait to see it in its entirety today!! I’ll be looking anxiously!

Happy New Year, Dear Friend! May 2019 bring you great happiness!!?❤️?
