Have you ever met someone who goes above and beyond what’s necessary or expected?

I have a very special friend who would do anything to help you in a time of need.

So much so, that she gave a beautiful table, that she loved and recently hand painted with beautiful flowers, along with some other pieces of furniture, to a woman she didn’t know who had a house fire and lost everything.

Her kindness doesn’t stop there, though.

She loves to bless her friends and others with gifts she creates.

The other day she did something special for one of the residents of the retirement center where she works who was going to be celebrating her birthday.

She created a beautiful heart ornament, scanned and enlarged and framed a photo of the resident’s dog which she missed, and made the woman’s favorite sweet treat.

Most of us don’t do so much for our best friends.

What was that favorite sweet treat?

Peanut Butter Fudge.

My sweet friend couldn’t find her mom’s wonderful peanut butter fudge recipe, so she went online and scoured the recipes until she saw two that seemed like good possibilities…..

Peanut Butter Fudge

Peanut Butter Fudge Recipes :: Peanut Butter Fudge :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

and Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge.

Peanut Butter Fudge Recipes :: Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge :: AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Both recipes were easy to make.  However, if you elect to make the Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge, you either need a strong arm or a Kitchen Aid.  It’s just good to be prepared.

Now as the official Peanut Butter Fudge Taste Tester and photographer…
here’s my evaluation of the two recipes.

The Peanut Butter Fudge should be called creamy PB fudge.   It really is the creamiest I have ever had.  I liked it because it wasn’t sicky sweet like a lot of PB fudges can be.  The texture was wonderful too.

The Easiest Peanut Butter Fudge seemed more like a fudge you would get at a fudge shop, both in flavor and texture.  Immediately I liked that one best as did my husband who has a real sweet tooth.  We also noted that the brown sugar…my friend used dark brown sugar…gave the fudge a slight hint of something reminiscent of maple sugar.

As good as these two fudges are….and they really are good or I wouldn’t be sharing them with you…my favorite way to enjoy peanut butter is on a hot toasted English muffin.  Yes, I love how the peanut butter melts into those little holes in the muffin and starts running down my fingers as I attempt to sink my teeth into its warm gooey goodness.

What’s your favorite way to enjoy peanut butter?

Which do you prefer….chocolate fudge or peanut butter fudge?

If you’d enjoy another “sweet treat,” then whip up a loaf of my Best Banana Bread and enjoy it like this.

Thank you for stopping by today.
I appreciate you and your sweet comments make my day.

Wishing you extraordinary sweet treats!

Diane

Diane, such a friend is rare indeed. God has a special place prepared for her in heaven, I’m sure! In reference to the peanut butter fudge, I’ve decided to go with you and your husband’s favorite. I grew up eating PB fudge my brother made (scary, I know!), but I don’t know what recipe he used. I’ve really been hungry for some, though. Thanks for your post and recipes – even a choice of recipes. 🙂 Yours looks beautiful, too.
    Blessings!

I am a chocolate fan all the way.. so I have to say chocolate fudge. But that being said, I can see myself liking peanut butter fudge too 🙂 Great pictures! Stopping by from SITS crafts link up 🙂 Glad to meet you!

    • Diane says

Shhh….don’t tell…but I truly am nuts about chocolate. But, when a friend, who is a super duper cook makes you two kinds of PB fudge…well…you just have to have some….and for a chocolate purest….it was really good. It was even better when she made some a few days later with chocolate on top. YUM!!
Thanks for popping over to say…Hi!!
      Blessings!!

  23. My husband and I both LOVE peanut butter. I will have to try your recipe for a special treat. Pinned it.

  33. Both of those fudges (is that a word?) look amazing! I cannot eat fudge because of the dairy, but they have me drooling. Thank you so much for sharing with us at Best of the Weekend. Pinned to our party board. 🙂

    • Diane says

I make up words all the time Lisa…so ‘fudges’ it will be!!! 😉
Awwww…I am so bummed about the dairy….hmmmm….I wonder if there is a fudge made with coconut oil….that would be amazing…delicious and just for you. Check Deliciously Organic – the blog and see if she has a recipe for one. Just as I suggested coconut oil, I thought maybe I had seen a recipe come across my screen sometime. It’s worth a check….she has great recipes.
