31 Extraordinary Days to Be... AnExtraordinaryDay.net

Let’s be real.

Life is hard.

Some days are really hard.

Have you had one of those hard days when a friend, a co-worker, or even a stranger said something that set you back?

What if those words had been encouraging words?

What if?

Be Encouraging Quote & FREE Printable :: Be encouraging to all you meet. You never know who is having a hard day. :: Stop by the blog to learn how you might become the bright spot in someone's day.

Some people wear their emotions on their faces.  Others keep everything bottled so tightly we think things are going well for them, but in reality, that is far from the truth.

Be encouraging to all you meet.
You never know who is having a hard day.

We may or may not know another’s circumstances.

But, our words can be seasoned with grace.

We can train ourselves to be ready with a word of encouragement.

Or just a smile.

When I was in college I transferred from a small private school to a state university.  I didn’t know anyone there.  And I was commuting.  Those first weeks were lonely.  Each day as I walked between buildings on that windswept campus I had my head up, hoping to catch someone’s eye.   Most students had their heads down, or simply avoided eye contact.  Occasionally one would look at me and I would smile and they would too.  That smile helped me to step more quickly and lightly.  And hopefully the recipient of my cheesy grin would have experienced the same.

A smile is a small thing.

Yet it can be a powerful encourager.

Be Encouraging…

whether with words or smiles or helpful actions.

Today… let’s choose to look for others who need encouragement.

But…let’s not stop there.

Be encouraging to all you meet.
You never know who is having a hard day.

Yaknow…I’m a pretty emotionally controlled person when it comes to the worksite– hazard of the profession, maybe. Most folks don’t find me real readable there, which can make it intimidating to approach me. I’m always floored when someome goes out of their way to check in with me, passes off a smiley note or gifts me with a sticker. Likewise, It brings me great joy to do those kindly things that might take a minute or less of my time…And you’re right, we don’t always know who might need that little act. Truth is I find myself content and at peace with ME when I do those simple things.
Excellent print that I’ll put on my desktop for the next while…reminders are a good thing!! Thank you for that!

  19. Great post! I have some people in my life who are the best examples of encouragement. Being with them really does rub off and make me feel better but also makes me want to pass it on. I try to be encouraging to others daily and you are so right — a simple smile is sometimes the very best encouragement of all.
