Officially for me... it's NOW spring and Eastertime. Why do I say that? I cannot wait!  Truly it will be music to my ears.  There's something about hearing those evening trills.  Even for a few moments... peace descends upon my … [Read more...]

Quite a few years ago my husband and I were browsing a sweet little book shop in downtown Holland, Michigan at Christmas time. We could spend hours there.  Tim, who is a huge fan of J.R.R. Tolkien, picked up a full-sized softcover book with the most amazing illustrations, Letters From Father Christmas. I was busy that year and though Tim encouraged me to read it, I never got around to it.  But, year after year, I stacked it up along with an assortment of Christmas books on the blanket chest we used for our coffee table. Then, for some reason, I sat down.  Um.  Generally I never sat down before Christmas … [Read more...]

Are smitten with creating book page crafts, or is it just me? I was going through some old photos and discovered my first effort in book page crafting.     A Book Page Medallion Wreath When I decided to make this wreath I watched videos and read all kinds of how-to's.  It seemed pretty complicated to me.  And really, it was a piece of cake.  Kind of.  Don't laugh, but rolling the pages into mini horns was not as easy as it looked.  I think I needed a third hand.  You know how it is....some things come very easily for a few and the rest of us we have to work it. The wreath looks … [Read more...]

Do you have a framed print that you like, but the mat needs to be refreshed? Several people have commented about this wall art which makes an appearance whenever I share a new vignette on my piano. This is the latest iteration.     Today I'm going to show you an Easy DIY Book Page Mat Tutorial. Last year I picked up a typical pink floral print with a mauve mat in a gold frame from the thrift store.  It screamed early 90's and I had no idea what I was going to do with it.  So it sat in my studio whispering my name. By now, you must know that I am smitten with book pages.  Is it because … [Read more...]

Welcome to Project Inspire{d}! I am so glad you're here! Over the  weekend I went out of town for the day and enjoyed a delightful color tour on the way to my destination.  In my neck of the woods there are mostly yellows with some oranges and a few rare reds, so it was nice to get to see a little bit more fall color.   For those of you who don't have the pleasure of seeing the leaves change color I wish you could have come along with me for the ride. The wind is ferocious tonight... I hope all the colorful leaves don't get blown off the trees.  Today I almost got blown away as I went leaf gathering... … [Read more...]

Easter was over.  Another week came and went.  And I still was in love with my pretty Easter centerpiece.  It had been the star of my spring tablescape. And though I love eggs for spring, it was time to put away the eggs.  As I stood there looking at my table and wondering how I might change it up for a Mother's Day tablescape... That's why I'm excited for this week's features from Project Inspire{d}.  There are some truly crazy good recipe ideas you'll want to check out and … [Read more...]
