Joy
Joy is my word of the year.
Joy is in my tagline, A Place of Joy and Inspiration.
Joy Day! is a special day on the blog each week.
Joy is something I strive for and desire for you.
How about we spread Christmas JOY all over our homes?
Today I have a fun roundup of ideas I’ve been seeing around the blogosphere that are joy-worthy for your home.
So without further ado…
Here’s some Christmas Joy for you…
I love the simplicity of a frame hanging around letters hung directly on the wall.
This entire mantel design has such a wonderful textural interest.
I’m pretty sure you’ll want to pin this and all the other great ideas to follow.
Be sure to click on the photo which takes you to the original site
so that proper attribution may be given. Thanks for doing that!!
Pick up some cardboard letters to create a standing JOY.
Even better…add a wreath for the O. Isn’t it fun?
I have a thing for dishes.
Add it to your favorite chalkboard with a simply Joy greeting framed by the wreath.
I’m a fan of Scrabble letters and this mantel vignette is rustic and simple and elegant all together.
You all know how head-over-heels I am about anything involving book page art.
This JOY book tops them all.
Don’t keep your Christmas JOY locked up inside. Share it with the world.
I love these boxwood letters in the window.
The world needs Christmas JOY.
Get this FREE printable and spread the joy around.
And…my Christmas Joy Wreath and Nativity Vignette from last year.
Look closely… the center has the word JOY over some antique Christmas song pages.
Thank you for stopping by today.
I appreciate you and your sweet comments make my day.
May your Christmas be filled with JOY,
Diane

Aren’t they all wonderful? Something about seeing the word JOY spelled out makes you feel more joyous. 🙂 I need to put that on my to-do list for next year.
Oh Stacey…I’m so glad you are enjoying them too!
I think you’re right about seeing the word spelled out.
Blessings…
I agree with Stacy! Joy!!! What a word!! Just goes with heralding the season of anticipation…the first Christmas…and thevLord has allowed us to continue to feel a sense of anticipation over the years since. Joy! Radiant happiness bubbling from the heart. Joy because a Child is born, a King has come and He shall be called Mighty Counselor!! Almighty God!! Everlasting! Prince of Peace! Heaven came down and joy fills my soul.
Not dependent on my health. I’m in my sickbed yet. But. Joy in my heart today!
Yes, Gwen…I agree there is a lot of anticipation in our JOY. 😉 Or is it JOY in our anticipation? 😉
You are a joy splasher wherever you are. But…I do pray you make a swift recovery and can be out and about soon. [hugs]
This is indeed a JOYFUL post! Loved it, especially your own wreath and nativity.
Blessings, Ginger
Ginger…you just put a big smile on my face. Thank you!
May you have a truly joyful season of Advent. [hugs]
Thank you for your beautiful post, and for the most beautiful nativity scene “vignette” I’ve seen on the internet. I needed that. Too much greed, selfishness and just plain un-awareness and insensitivity in the world, a lot of it unfolding right now in the blogosphere and, well, it’s just nice to be here right now.
I’m blessed that you have been blessed by your visit, Jan.
Thanks for you kind words. [hugs]
JOY has been my word for 2013 and I have had so much given to me this year. I am trying to share it also. Love Love Love all these ways of sharing JOY. Thanks for linking to TTF! I am going to try to make a few of these myself!
hugs,
Linda
I’m glad you love them too, Linda. 🙂 I’m so excited that you’re going to try you hand at some too! WooHoo!!
I love all of these “Joy” ideas!
You make me smile Jeni! Thanks!
I love your blog name, too!!!
This is just phenomenal!! I love it. Thank you so much for linking up to our Best Of The Weekend Party – we are so glad you came by! Pinned! xo
Awwww….Claire…you just put the biggest cheesy grin on my face. 😀 Thank you!!
Wishing you JOY for Christmas!!
Awesome ideas Diane, thank you! I need JOY in my house asap!
Awww…thanks Jenna!
Really some of these ideas a pretty easy to reproduce and yield a big Christmas ‘bang.’
May your Christmas be filled with JOY!
Right……You’re gonna haffta point out to me the wonky stuff–I certainly didn’t notice it. LOL
And I’m soooooooo drooling over the folded book pages JOY. Holy moly……what an awesome bit of work. I wanna do that! (I have a few old books I’d sacrifice! LOL)
And the mossy door …ohhhh …..and windows with the wreaths spelling it out! Just adorable.
Yaknow, I purchased a JOY hanging from a little obscure place in a small town–fell in love with it when I saw it, it’s sat in the bag and isn’t wrapped up for the giving because I just love it and can’t decide who the lucky recipient oughta be. Perhaps I need to give ME. Now, I know that sounds selfish–and undoubtedly could be cuz I do adore it. But I can think of multiple reasons why that hanging reminder would be a good thing to have, given I dabble in whining and self pity on occasion.
Yup–a sticky note will work just as well…Ohhh..pfffttttt. LOL Let’s be honest— I WANT the cute thing!!
*please note I’ll be wrapping it up and gifting it today after humbly hanging my head and knowing a perfect recipient for the prezzie*
(And THIS is the kind of ‘think it through and let me remind you of what’s good and true and worthy’ that can happen for me by just showing up here, in case you were wondering.)
JOY will happen when I gift it!!
Haha!! Mel…it’s a spacing thing and I spent forever trying to correct it. Maybe you don’t notice it, but for me, it might has well be blinking neon letters. LOL!
That JOY book…yes..I really want to see if I can figure that out. Not that I would have the patience. 🙂
Awwww…you are such an encourager. And I have no idea how that happens when you come by. I think “somebody” is in the business of using these tapped in thoughts in ways beyond that which I can imagine. Glory to HIM. That being said…a JOY pretty would be calling me name if I were you, too. Yet…there is something so amazing about sharing the JOY. I think it will multiply and come back to you over and over when you release it to your perfect recipient. Watch and see. 😉
I love all these ideas! I will be using some of these next Christmas for sure!
Thanks for sharing!
Carrie
Thank you so much Carrie!!
That reminds me, I think I need to start a new pin board just for next year as well.
Blessings!
Love this post as this was my inspiration word for my latest DIY canvas art. Just hopped over from the Inspiration Monday party!
How fun is that Ila?! Thanks for sharing that and your kind words.
Wishing you Christmas JOY!
What a lovely idea to keep the JOY of the season foremost in the minds of all. Have a Joyful Chirstmas!
I so appreciate your encouraging words, Linda.
May your Christmas be filled with JOY!
Visiting today from Inspire Me Monday! Thank you for sharing the creative ways to decorate with Joy around our homes this holiday season. The book and the Scrabble letters were among my favorites 🙂
Thanks for popping by Shannon. 🙂 I sure would like to figure out how to make the JOY book. That is amazing.
Best wishes for a JOYous CHRISTmas!
Hey Diane! It’s Deonna from the Child at Heart blog…thank you for featuring my light up JOY sign! This is a great list! I have some good ideas for next year now 🙂
Oh Deonna I’m thrilled that you like seeing your JOY sign here! I plan to make my version of it next year!!! You rocked it girlie!!!!
Merriest of Christmas to you and yours!!
JOY
Our priest once explained it….the way to true joy
Jesus first
Others second and then
Yourself
So excited to find your website and see all the beautiful items. I especially love the word JOY; I have my kitchen decorated with the word JOY all over it and the dining room. I love the idea of coming in the kitchen and fixing my coffee each morning and think of how Jesus gives me the “JOY in the morning”. I love so many of your ideas.
Thanks, and know this was showed a year ago but I love it.
Janet
